How McCain Could Win.......or steal it....very easily!
Something most people here don't want to hear or consider, they rather not even think about it and what the republicans count on...

The bullshit polls will tell us McCain is within a couple of points and surging in the swing statesthat the republicans want & need.

It's going to be very ugly tomorrow & make no mistake, the republicans have been working on this for four year and are going to try and steal it...Why not they can't win without stealing it they know it, you know and I know it....So why not?

If they do indeed steal those swing states & the election, think of all the ready made excuses the republicans will have to feed to the people through the media....the republicans bullshit on How & WHY?

The "Bradley Effect" turned out to be real & larger than most expected.

McCain's pounding Obama on being a socialist paid off.

People just trusted McCain's experience more in the end.

People didn't want a democratic congress and a democratic president.

Many undecided voters decided on McCain at the very last minute.

Young voters didn't show up to vote in the numbers as expected.

It seems that complacency took hold of many Obama supporters with his big lead in the polls the past couple of weeks.

The charismatic Sarah Palin turned out to be a plus for McCain in the end & helped him win over many undecided voters.

Unexpectedly, Latino voters, in surprisingly large numbers voted for McCain.

It's November 5 and the nation is in shock. Media blame it on the "Bradley effect": Americans supposedly turned into Klansmen inside the voting booth, and Barack Obama turned up with 6 million votes less than calculated from the exit polls. Florida came in for McCain and so did Indiana. Colorado, despite the Democrats' Rocky Mountain high after the Denver convention, stayed surprisingly Red. New Mexico, a state where Anglos are a minority, went McCain by 300 votes, as did Virginia.

That's the nightmare. Here's the cold reality.

Swing state Colorado. Before this election, two Republican secretaries of state purged 19.4 percent of the entire voter roll. One in five voters. Pfft!

Swing state New Mexico. One in nine voters in this year's Democratic caucus found their names missing from the state-provided voter registries. And not just any voters. County by county, the number of voters disappeared was in direct proportion to the nonwhite population. Gore won the state by 366 votes; Kerry lost it by only 5,900. Despite reassurances that all has been fixed for Tuesday, Democrats lost from the list in February told me they're still "disappeared" from the lists this week.

Swing state Indiana. In this year's primary, ten nuns were turned away from the polls because of the state's new voter ID law. They had drivers' licenses, but being in their 80s and 90s, they'd let their licenses expire. Cute. But what isn't cute is this: 566,000 registered voters in that state don't have the ID required to vote. Most are racial minorities, the very elderly and first-time voters; that is, Obama voters. Twenty-three other states have new, vote-snatching ID requirements.

Swing state Florida. Despite a lawsuit battle waged by the Brennan Center for Justice, the state's Republican apparatchiks are attempting to block the votes of 85,000 new registrants, forcing them to pass through a new "verification" process. Funny thing: verification applies only to those who signed up in voter drives (mostly black), but not to voters registering at motor vehicle offices (mostly white).

And so on through swing states controlled by Republican secretaries of state.

The Ugly Secret

Here's an ugly little secret about American democracy: We don't count all the votes. In 2004, based on the data from the US Elections Assistance Commission, 3,006,080 votes were not counted: "spoiled," unreadable and blank ballots; "provisional" ballots rejected; mail-in ballots disqualified.

This Tuesday, it will be worse. Much worse.

How to Steal an Election in Five Easy Steps

Here's how they can pull off the steal. Take out your calculator and add it up.

3. I highly doubt it.
There are simply too many close states out there for the pukes to steal them all- quite a few have dem SoSs. I'll bookmark your thread. And kick it when it becomes evident that Obama has won.

7. Indeed.
I do not expect to be able to vote tomorrow due to ID requirements.

I won't be alone, either.

8. I agree. Not much has been done to correct the problems with the 2000 and 2004
elections. I think based on our most recent experiences in the last two elections, the lack of any major systemic improvements, as well as the ruthless, lawless nature of the neocons there is a real danger in this election as well.

I know it is an unpopular position here, but I firmly believe it to be true.

11. Obama's going into it with 264 solid electoral votes.
Unless McCain can somehow flip PA, and there's no fucking way he can.

And he's got pretty good leads in VA, CO, MO, and OH, any of which would be a victory.

Not only that, he's recently put a few previously red states into the tossup column. IN, GA, MT, and ND to name a few.

For McCain to win, he's got to win everything that is not solidly Obama territory. VA, FL, NC, CO, OH, ND, NT, NV, GA, MO... I'm probably forgetting a few.

They can still try to steal it, but if they do it will be blatantly obvious. And I hate to think what the consequences would be.

12. There would be hell to pay
As another poster said, stealing it this time would be so blatantly obvious that the fallout would be an enormous shitstorm the likes of which this country hasn't seen.

20. You've got more faith in the American people than I do.
I think the majority would go back to work on Wednesday, accepting the list of excuses the media feeds them as to why the polls were so off. Sure, there would be some protests & maybe even some massive ones in metro areas, but there would not enough for the likes of CNN to do much more than give the story 2 minutes of air-time once an hour & most of that time would be reciting the list of excuses.

I have one friend who believes there is no difference between Obama & McCain. Another friend says the country is so fucked up it doesn't matter who is president. These people won't do anything if the election is stolen, if they even believe it's stolen.

If they do steal it, I hope I'm wrong & you're right, that there will be an enormous shitstorm. But I just don't see that level of care or concern among people I know.

15. I know that every word in the OP is true. I have tried to sound the alarm time and again.
BUT today I finally reached the point that I honestly and truly believe that Obama is going to win the election. Don't ask me why because I don't know. I just feel it.

President Obama has a nice ring to it.

16. It's good to be aware. It's good to try and be positive despite difficulty.
Thanks for posting this. I didn't want to. I feared the response.

But it's quite frightening.

They know there would be all holy HELL to pay if they tried for a third coup.

Now I guardedly go onward. Unfortunately for people who are vigilant, every moment ends up being somewhat guarded. Gone are my days of reckless abandon. I miss them. But those were days that helped create the situation we're in.

19. The election will be a lot closer than most people think. The Repubs will ...
try everything possible to steal it. I'm an old guy and I've seen it happen all too often. I really hope the Obama campaign has put as much thought into keeping it from being stolen as they have in winning it honestly. Too many Dems just don't want to believe what these criminals are capable of.
