As a person who has had more than one family member die from cancer, I am totally outraged at your comments. You and the other “thugs” in this thread that insinuate that she was euthanized, that she died “conveniently”, that she was murdered, or that the “plug was pulled” - even the few “on ice posts” should be totally ashamed of yourselves. It doesn’t matter whether the person is Obama’s grandmother, or an unknown American - that person should be afforded the dignity a human being deserves.

I’ll tell you this. Had I been undecided, and reading this site to see what you had to say about Senator McCain or Senator Obama, I would have totally been put off of voting for McCain.

Do you really think Senator McCain and Governor Palin would approve of what you people have written? A lot of people - Republicans and Democrats booed the lady that refused to give kids candy if their parents didn’t support McCain. Several Republican candidates for local office here have discussed the disgust they had for that activity. If they saw this thread, they would say that this thread makes that lady look like the Fairy Godmother.

I hope to God that you NEVER have a family member diagnosed with Cancer. However, if you do, I hope to God that you receive the same treatment as this man’s family has had on this thread so that you would realize the disgusting thing you are doing.

I just returned from my own Grandmother's wake/funeral/burial yesterday and seeing these threads about Obama's grandmother just makes me so sad. May they both rest in peace.

This thread is making me feel the need to vent a little. The wake/funeral for my grandmother was performed in true Italian Catholic tradition which was making me horribly uncomfortable since I'm not a Catholic. It was 3 hours of open casket wake, 1 hour funeral with mass, full sit down dinner (all at the funeral home), burial the following morning.

I'll never understand McCain supporters, even those in my own family. I guess they have been talking about my black sheep ideals with each other for the past couple of days, ever since I flew in to town. They found the wake to be a proper place to ridicule me for not supporting their candidate. About 5 of them decided to attack Obama as a socialist and tell me I should give them all any money I have to distribute among them. Then, they joked about hoping I'd miss my flight home so I couldn't vote today. This was all right in the middle of the wake. Then they made a spectacle of me when I refused to visit the open casket. I told them I didn't want to remember my Grandmother that way (with all the horrible makeup and the weight loss) and they persisted trying to force me to go until I got angry, drew a line, and told them to respect my decision. And this was my own family, cold and controlling. I think I cried myself to sleep every night I was there probably from the stress.

I don't understand how people can be so clueless and heartless but all I can fathom is they don't have a shred of empathy or compassion for others. I think of empathy as a kind of intelligence. This empathy they lack shapes and defines their personality and political views. They more they lack, the less human they become until finally some come out with the words that prove them to be monsters. These Freepers that are posting these horrible things haven't the capacity to understand their own words and cynicism. They don't think about what they are saying but merely how to attack those who are too different from themselves.
