Obama Overcoming Barriers In NE Philly
Obama Overcoming Barriers In NE Philly

Dave Davies just caught up with Robert Dellavella, leader of the 55th Democratic Ward in Mayfair, who said U.S. Sen. Barack Obama is exceeding his expectations in Northeast Philly.

"There's been a shift in the Northeast," Dellavella said. "I'm confident he's going to win our ward and I would never have said that two months ago. Then I was hoping for 30 to 35 percent."

Dellavella spoke after a party luncheon at Chickie's & Pete's, thrown by U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz. Mayor Nutter was also attending.

This is one of the white dominated wards.

If Obama wins this ward and many other white dominated wards, he'll win the state.

Kerry won every single Philadelphia ward, I believe.

5. No question about it.
It won't be close if this is true.
