Now I'm going to drive an hour to take my 97-year-old Dad to his polling place. He, too, is voting for Obama.

About 45 years ago, Dad, the advertising manager for a local discount store in Stockton, California, fought off some mild opposition from higher ups to hire an Afro-American assistant. I don't think he ever thought he'd see this.
