Voting took me as long as it took to fill out my paper ballot this morning. There were no lines, but then of course I've been voting in the same district for 33 years & I know the best time to go vote.

This is the most exciting election I can remember in my 35 years of voting. After I voted I went around town for errands that don't normally have much time to do since I'm a teacher. Everywhere I went, there were people standing with Obama signs. Lots and lots of young people everywhere, jumping up and down every time I honked in appreciation. Their energy, their excitement is such a rush.

I saw entire families out, kids and all, with signs for Obama. The house across the street from where I voted had Obama signs draped across the front of the second story of the house. The North Valley, where I live has adopted the saying Obamanos meaning go with Obama. Someone painted their huge wall on a main street with Obamanous in red, white and blue.

People I talked with told me that over 50% of the voters in Albuquerque voted in early voting, and everyone was excited. A cafe in the Nob Hill area was giving free lattes to anyone who had voted. The owner of my favorite camera store told me that he declares that the next president will be Obama. The Obama Excitement is everywhere I go in town! I hope we can keep this spirit up when Obama will need our help after he is elected.

Obamanos!
