7. All the way!
Large African American population AND they get the Chicago TV stations, which, of course, frequently feature that state's junior Senator.

10. Gary and all counties close to Chicago should be strong Obama and they will be last to come in
Marion county should also be strong Obama (Indianapolis).

14. Conservative areas....many of them southern..

Good sign for Obama. If he can hold his own in these kind of counties, Indy and Gary will put him over the top.

5. That they can't even call IN for the Rethugs right now is GREAT.
Usually IN is called for them right away. Not this year.

9. But what about ME? If Obama takes Indiana, I won't win the pundit contest!
And what a relief that would be. I was very pessimistic while still giving Obama the win. I did not give him either Indiana or North Carolina and he still won. I am starting to believe!!

12. YES! Vigo, Steuben counties running 20% ahead of Kerry -> it's 50-50
With 69% of Vigo County and Steuben County in.

Vigo county Obama 57% (Kerry 46%)
Steubin 68% Obama 43% (Kerry 34%)

Kerry won 40% in Indiana. Meaning that Obama needs to consistently do 20% better (not 20 points higher - roughly 10 points higher in each county) in order to make it 50-50.

In these two first-reporting Indiana counties - Obama IS running ahead of Kerry enough to make it 50-50.

GObama!
