Look for "public outcry" to "suggest" Todd for senate (until the special election)...assuming Syevens prevails.. :grr:

Then Mrs Moose runs for Murkowski's seat in '10...when her governorship is over...

republicans don't "accidentally" say anything...

People up there pretty much acknowledge that Todd's running things anyway..

Mr AND Mrs Moose, might end up in the US senate...just in time for her to drop it all and run for president in '12, without having to give up a senate seat she would have...and she would be on tv 24-7 :puke:

1. That would be scary
The more plausible scenario is that, as you suggest, she runs against Lisa Murkowski in 2010.

After defeating Frank in 2006, Lisa would probably be no challenge at all. At least as long as the checks keep comin'.

3. She doesn't wear well on TV
Even the hicks can pretty much see through the good ol girl act she puts on. Her resentment of smart people, people who live in cities, people with darker complexions, all comes though like gang busters. And that voice! GACK! Even if you agreed with every thought (?) she puts forth you'd get tired of hearing it real fast. TV exposure is not a friend to Caribou Barbie.

4. How long does the nation have to endure her whining?
The nation rejected you, Sarah. Time to move on and just take care of Alaska. Oh, and Trig, Piper, and Willow, too, if it's not too much to ask.

Knowing her as they do now?

19. She's too mavericky for a lot of Republicans here.
Before she got nominated and went all crazy on us, her highest approval ratings were with the Dems and Independents. The old line Republicans couldn't stand her, and I doubt that their feelings have changed much.

10. She's referencing what Gov. Murkowski did (appoint his daughter to a Senate seat)
Edited on Thu Nov-13-08 10:27 AM by ClarkUSA
That set off a political firestorm which helped put him in his political grave. She doesn't even know Alaska stripped governors
of the ability to appoint a successor when a Senate seat comes vacant. Constitutionally, the law must specifically grant that
power to a state executive and Alaskan law specifically denies that power after the Murkowski debacle.

a jab at Joe Biden. Everyone in Delaware thinks Joe has been grooming Beau to take his senate seat.
I personally hope he does.

13. That would be a reference to her predecessor, Frank Murkowski, who appointed his
daughter Lisa to the Senate seat. You know, the Senate seat you reference in your post. It's shocking that Sarah Palin is actually more well-informed than most DUers.

15. Been here since 2001.. I KNOW about Lisa-Lisa...
don't be "mock-shocked"...

The thing that caught my attention was that she was not even ASKED about the "temporary appointment of Todd"..she volunteered it.. Experience has taught me that republicans often say exactly what they plan to do...by saying they would "never" do that :)

Hopefully, Stevens will lose and put us all out of this misery.

18. Sarah doesn't know the law.
Edited on Thu Nov-13-08 10:59 PM by Blue_In_AK
Please read this analysis by Andrew Halcro of why Sarah couldn't appoint ANYONE, not even for an interim position. It involves a state Supreme Court decision that says the referendum we passed forbidding any interim appointment before a special election trumps the law passed by the legislature that says the governor has that right. http://www.andrewhalcro.com/test_1

If what Andrew says is correct, and I believe it is, then any appointment is out of the question.

I don't think I've heard him utter a word. What kind of senator would he be if he can't even speak?
