Look, There is a very good reason that Obama "may" have offered
Hillary the position of SOS. (For the record I will take NO stock in what the news has to say until I hear it from Obama's lips himself that she will be SOS, and if she is who he chooses I TRUST him that he's making these choices for reasons that might not be obvious.)

Like it or not, for every person that hates the idea there is another who loves it. None of us know exactly what's going on behind closed doors and trying to speculate is going to drive people crazy.

That being said- first the good reasons for choosing HRC.

1) Known and received world wide with her husband, personal and professional relationships with many important people in other countries.
2) She is manipulative, NO that's not an insult. It's something that any diplomat/SOS needs in large supply.
3) She's smart and when she puts forth an effort can be incredibly charming.
4) She doesn't just have teeth behind what she says, she can have fangs too. Warhawk? Yeap, she sure is. But right now, we need someone with serious backbone to pony up to the fence as SOS. Also remember, she'll be following Obama's path not her own.
5) As SOS, she will still be making history as the first "First lady" to fill the position. It will help bring many together with a single focus.
6)It will blunt any run she may have been thinking about for 2012, or any call for her to run.

The only two reasons NOT to offer her SOS-
Bill
Drama

If those two things can be taken care of, an end to the Drama and Bill with a FIRM leash in hand...
I think many of the people will be more than pleasantly surprised at how well this will work out.

Do I care for HRC? No not particularly. But I don't want someone I LIKE, or someone I can "chat" with if they can't do the job. I want someone who will do the job with a panache that can't be denied.

2. I think this is a most reasonable analysis. Recommended.
President-elect Obama was completely silent on this question last night, but in the end I think she'll accept the position as Secretary of State. And I think she'll do an outstanding job.

4. The governor of New York state is a Democrat.
Why would he select a Republican?

5. I did not support Sen. Clinton in the primaries, but I admire the woman - I wish I were like her
She's tough in a way a woman needs to be tough nowadays. Seriously! And she's very intelligent.

8. Thank you for brining this up on Thanksgiving Day.
I was so hoping to get through the day without 'that other one'. Bosnia,Bosnia, Bosnia. I have used all of my restraint. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
