Edited on Fri Nov-28-08 08:40 PM by S_E_Fudd
I am pleasantly surprised...

One piece of evidence among many...

...the president-elect has been enthusiastic about naming Clinton to the post from the start, believing she would bring instant stature and credibility to U.S. diplomatic relations and that the advantages to her serving far outweigh potential downsides.

1. yes, I didn't need this to prove it to me though
it makes me think of how pissed off I would get whenever sour grapes Joan Walsh would say "if Obama was MAN ENOUGH, he would pick her as VP..." STFU, Walsh, you obviously have no idea about Obama and his "manhood". Also, I hate when people use "man enough" etc...

3. Hey, I saw it in his eyes and his voice almost 2 years ago.
I loved him on his day of announcement.

Now we have idiots in Bombay/Mumbai India........had them on 9/11 here in NYC and DC/PA

Nice to know we have a few truly wonderful men and women on the planet ....like Obama.

I hope he makes a difference, I hope this is enough to fight against the idiots on this planet.

8. I mean mature sober people...
Who are more concerned with moving the country forward than they are about rehashing the primary campaign...

Obama is one of them...

6. You forgot the part saying any reports of the nod are premature.
But senior Clinton adviser Philippe Reines said, "We're still in discussions, which are very much on track. Any reports beyond that are premature."

As reported by Andrea Mitchell, head leak-spreader. Oy.

9. no, to be precise you are being selective in which parts of the article you post
If you don't want people to look at the rest of the piece, best not post a linky-dink.

11. She would
Bring instant stature and credibility to a floundering org.

But the MIC is the real elephant in the room. Gates, an MIC teat sucker is gonna be sitting pretty, and he probably was presented to Obama in an offer that Barack couldn't refuse. So Obama needs some real powerful people in with him and who is more powerful then the Clintons?

12. Here is the full quote,
the bold type the OP left out.

"But a senior Obama adviser said the president-elect has been enthusiastic about naming Clinton to the post from the start, believing she would bring instant stature and credibility to U.S. diplomatic relations and that the advantages to her serving far outweigh potential downsides."

13. I have no doubt that it is going to happen...
Obama's people would have knocked it down by now...

But if it doesn't he has made enough other wise choices (Emanuel, Volcker, Summers, Geithner etc)
that my judgment would not change on the off chance these reports are not true...

15. Knock knock... I'm Obama's people...
and I knock this rumor down. Okay?

Obama already told everyone what they needed to know when he said it is himself where any information comes from, until then you know what to do.

18. The US President is Head of State and Head of Government
The Secretary of State is not 'head of state'.

16. I've never seen a presidential candidate run such a perfect campaign as he did
He showed wisdom beyond his years all throughout that campaign. He made incredibly few mistakes. I don't think anyone is more careful, precise, and prepared than Obama is. Hopefully he'll produce now.
