Palin's secret? Victoria's Secret is on her latest list of shops
from the Houston Chronicle:

Victoria's Secret is Sarah Palin's secret no more.

Politico reports that the Republican National Committee made purchases on behalf of the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee at the sexy lingerie shop. The Victoria's Secret expenditure -- along with even more purchases at Texas-based Nieman Marcus -- were among the newly released expenditures uncovered by Politico. Ditto a visit to Escape Skin Care and Day Spa in New York.

One big change: The Palins, perhaps responding to the criticisms of her expensive shopping tastes, also spent campaign cash in some less-posh places. According to Politico, "Dick's Sporting Goods, The Limited, Foot Locker, Wal-Mart, Toys R Us and Victoria's Secret are all listed in between the expected payments for media buys, direct mail and polling."

The RNC total for Palin family expenses increased from $150,000 in September to about $180,000 through October. Texans will be happy to know that there are additional Nieman Marcus charges in October, too. But the Alaska governor's family diversified its clothing purchases. Brooks Brothers, the Gap, J.C. Penney, Express and Wal-Mart joined Nieman Marcus, Macy's and Saks Fifth Avenue on the shopping list of the Palin family.

The RNC's response to Politico: "The accessories have been returned, inventoried and will be appropriately dispersed to various charities."

I'm sure the Salvation Army would love to get some lace teddies...

15. You just stole my line.
I'm not sure whether I should be imagining the hypocrisy of the RNC's supposed usefulness of the clothes, or pondering how she might need a lace teddy to stump for votes.

10. I do. Great stagewear.
Some of their stuff isn't cut for a guy my size, though. It's made for giants like the models in the catalog.

14. Can anyone imagine for one minute if a Democrat did this
they would be torn limb from limb not just by the RW but by the media.

I'm so sick of the hypocrisy...just physically sick of it.

18. I really don't get this.
Edited on Sat Dec-06-08 02:03 AM by ErinBerin84
So they bought underwear for the entire family? Todd got his silk boxers, Palin apparently got Victoria's secret, and Palin's dad mentioned that the kids lose their underwear or something, when talking about sorting out the clothes that needed to be given back to charity. Such a strange situation. And I don't get why they needed to diversify....150,000 dollars was not enough to get them through one more month, so they bought some token "less expensive" clothes? Fiscal conservatives my ass.
