Poll question: Who's your favorite selection to Obama's Cabinet so far?
not enough room for a "None" choice, you can just post if you are truly disappointed with ALL his choices so far.

16. That was pretty much my exact thought.
Voted for Chu for the sake of the planet, but it was close.

2. I like Rice, Shinseki and Clinton
and Chu! I didn't really know much about him until today but sounds like an excellent pick. :hi:

3. I really like Shinseki, he just strikes me as someone who cares about the soilders and not what they
can do for him in times of war.

5. I would've picked him had I not heard about Chu today
It's nice having trouble deciding who's the best choice rather than the least-worst choice.

7. I couldn't decide between Chu and Shinseki
I would have gone with Chu, if only because I'm unnecessarily proud of myself for posting the first thread naming him (even if it was still only a rumour at the time of the posting). Yeah, I get proud for stupid shit :P

But, Shinseki is just damn good as well. I honestly like all of the appointments - even Gates, if only because he's reportedly going to stay on for a year.

25. Same here - an embarassment of riches
If I had to rank, it would be Chu, Shinseki, Napolitano, Richardson, Daschle, Clinton, Gates - with the others at the end mainly because I'm not as familiar with them.

And one that goes beyond the "beating a dead-horse" nature of the "team of rivals" meme.

Obama is a thinking man.

20. Every time a new name is publicly released
I sound like the two dudes in the Guinness commercials:
"BRILLIANT!!!!!"
Even in keeping Bob Gates at the Pentagon, Obama shows his astuteness by shoring up the fairly shaken confidence of our military after the catastrophic Rumsfeld experiment.

But when all is said and done, I like every choice Obama has made.

24. I think Shinseki, from what I've read
Other reactions:

Hillary Clinton, Sec State - like, at least she will bring a familiarity around the world
Robert Gates, Sec Def - meh
Bill Richardson, Sec Commerce - this is fine
Eric Holder, Attorney General - mixed feelings
Timothy F. Geithner, Treasury - not completely sure
Tom Daschle, HHS - this is fine
Janet Napolitano, Homeland Security - good, but better as AG
Steven Chu, Energy - great!
Eric K. Shinseki, Veteran's Affairs - great!
Susan Rice - UN Ambassador - great! I think it's just a rumor that Hillary dislikes her

26. All of the above
He has been a great statesman who knows what the country needs and what he will need to govern wisely.

(And this, from a Clinton primary supporter).
