Joan Walsh, Tweety and Michelle what's her name(cough republican cough) completely trashing Ayres. Michelle didn't like him because he looked like a liberal (two earrings! my gawd! scruffy! blah blah) Joan Walsh (whine whine whine, can't she TRY not to whine all the time) scolding him for not being contrite.

He said it was horrific what he did because it might have cost the loss of life but a majority of the country were against the war, we'd tried to join the dem party and elect a peace candidate, we tried peaceful marches and still 2,000 innocent Vietnamese were dying every single WEEK in Vietnam.

What is up with all the hate on Ayres? Yeah, it is controversial to use violence, even against property, but Joan and Chris should remember what it was like.

(Sorry, had to vent. Tweety had been good for a few months but tonight it was beat up on Ayres and connect Obama to the Illinois idiot. Bummer. Back to the GOP Tweety now?)

1. GOP Tweety is back...
Also that Michelle had a lot of nerve talking about Ayers when she had a fly away plug of hair sticking straight up and her red outfit with black fingernail polish. She didn't look so great herself.

a BAD HAIR DAY, or TWO!?!

Talk about an out of touch "elitist comment" from a ruling political class pundit.

Tweety? IMNSHO he's just bat shit spastic and serves his corporate masters by keeping us lowly chattering classes either confused or at each other's throats. Tweety's all about schmoozing with the power elite, on and off camera.

4. I always liked Michelle before today. Listening to her today
the line "the waters of that soul wouldn't get your feet wet" came to me. I think it was National Lampoon.

Tweety did all right in the interview and then went straight into the gutter in the follow up with the reaction people, imho.

6. Every once in awhile Michelle says something wingnutty,
like Huckabee last night on TDS talking about gay marriage.

They seem like perfectly normal, pleasant human beings only to erupt in something that just makes me cringe.

7. THere is a second write of the history of Vietnam going on right now
post 9/11, where we didn't win because the anti-war protesters didn't let us win.

14. I've been hearing that crap for 30 years
And it's still just as much garbage as it was then. The warmongers did everything they wanted to and then some to Vietnam, they just discovered that it wasn't enough. Some people just REFUSE to be beaten into submission.

9. Plastoid -- Bimbo -- Barbie -- Newsbunnies (male & female) ...
are incapable of discussing the logic of political violence.

They've never heard of Bunker Hill, the Warsaw ghetto uprising, etc, etc...

Nobody ever gave anybody anything especially freedom.

24/7 cable 'news' babbles on, saying nothing.

Something's got to give...

17. I view this a bit differently. During the Vietnam War I was active with Clergy and Laity Concerned
About Vietnam which was an interdenominational group that Bill Coffin was active in. I looked at the Weathermen as being wrongheaded in their approach which, as I saw it, matched violence against violence. Ayers has repudiated those activities himself (I'veheard him several times, on air and in print, talk abouthis regret).

The point that Joan Walsh made was that an "empty building" could have a night watchman or cleaning people inside and they could be innocent victims. Joan referenced the student at the Univ. of Wisconsin Madison who was such a victim.

The point was and is that anti-war people taking the route of violence doesn't stop the violent. Ayers himself said his activities did nothing to stop the war. And, in my opinion, it just fired up the right and enabled Richard Nixon to stay in office longer and wage more war.

We should learn from this lesson...

15. Nobody is asking for contrition
from people that participated in the moral nightmare of the Vietnam War. We're expected to kiss every American Vet's ass regardless of their actions. But violence against property? That's domestic terrorism! An apology is demanded. We live in a disgustingly militaristic society and I'm sorry to say that I don't see any sign of a change of direction on that front.
