Meet the last Dem congressman from Louisiana.

Charles Melancon is the last Dem congress person from the state of Louisiana. Both Don Cazayoux and William J. Jefferson lost so we have but one guy standing alone. I am sure we will take back Jeffersons seat in 2010.

2. Jefferson is an ass for not vacating the seat when this first happened

IMHO- His insistance on running again handed the gop the seat. I wouldn't have gone out to vote for Jefferson either.

I don't know much about the new congressman, but the fact that he is a Vietnamese immigrant made me smile.

Is he a conservative or a moderate repuke?

3. I think he ran as a moderate

4. He ran on a modest platform of ethics reform, using federal dollars to help Louisiana, and school

choice. I think that was pretty much it.

5. Blame Jefferson and Pelosi for losing that seat. If he had stepped down,

or if Pelosi had the courage to expel him (which would have pissed off the DU Pelosi-haters to no end, of course), then we'd still have that seat.

The only reason he lost is because a third-party candidate took AA votes that would have gone to Cazayoux.
