We want CHANGE but. . . .NO SURPRISES. Well it doesn't work that way.
Mayor Bloomberg goes to diner with Obama and then withdraws from running. A surprise or a deal? Next Caroline K is selected to head up vetting team for VP. Surprised why, she was appointed by Bloomberg to head up fund raising for NYC public schools and her mentor.

Surprise Caroline Kennedy becomes top contender for vacated US Senate seat.

I'm not surprised are you?

1. So, the meeting with Obama was one big conspiracy to get Caroline Kennedy appointed to the Senate?
Wow!! Is that also why he appointed Hillary to SOS - just to make her seat available?

3. My point is there are players behind the scene and are every much part of politics than only the
public scene. We are like babes in the woods when we leave this out of our political thinking.

8. Given the nature of 99% of CK_John's threads, I'm not surprised in the least.

He has the largest tin-foil hat of anyone in the history of the internet.

7. Politics is often the trading of favors.
I'm not going to get too cynical, though, until I find out what favors have been traded, if any, in the situations to which you allude.
