I'm starting to think that Obama would not pass the gay-friendly litmus test if asked the right questions.

Is this a surprise?

Did he give any indications that he was gay-friendly, or would champion GLBT causes? (Other than getting rid of Don't Ask, Don't Tell - which he has already said would not happen immediately!)?

1. No indications as far as I can tell
I voted for him because the alternative was scarier.

2. None of the major candidates supported gay marriage.
I'm not sure why people thought Obama held a different view.

8. Well, probably not, but if the Admins and Mods enforced the rules equitably...
he would be tombstoned. But then again, gay discrimination has a different standard here than any other type of discrimination.

9. Yes, and you know what, that's the way it SHOULD be...
No coddling around with this shit, you HAVE to support Same-Sex Marriage on this board, period. Skinner actually had to lay down the law in the past, and I hope he does it again. I'm keeping an eye out.

16. I'm building it, by the way, the OP doesn't support Gay Marriage...
In her own words:

"But I will NOT stick my neck out for same-sex marriage."

15. Uh-oh. Where does it say that?
I support civil unions. I would not vote against same-sex marriage, but I understand those who do. Another nail in my coffin.

17. Why is that MISOGYNY?????
I don't see how one can equate sexism and misogyny. They aren't the same.

Misogyny is hatred of women. Sexism is not hatred.
