Democrats can't win without the "Left"
Edited on Wed Dec-17-08 07:35 PM by Double_Talk_Express
It's a simple fact....and the longer the party establishment (mainly the DLC) continues to give us the middle finger....the less of us that will be motivated to vote.

And I'd like to remind everyone that the "Left", to your average DLC'er or Blue Dog, is anyone who is to the left of your average moderate Republican.

I want our party back.

1. I want our party back, too.

But I think it's left us far behind.

Someone floated the notion that if the Repug party blows apart, that might leave a vacuum where there would be room for a new party to spring up on the left - a people's party that stood up for the poor and for working stiffs, like the Democratic Party USED TO.

{fingers crossed}

2. They can't win without a chunk of Republicans and a lot of independents either

3. Clearly, you can't win with any narrow segment
In order to win we need close to 90% of Democrats, 40% of Independents, and probably 10% of Republicans.

The DLC flips us off, we tell them to sit and spin, the blue dogs tell everyone to go to hell. Its long been similar to this, the same folks just have labels now. We obviously all need each other or the Republiscum wouldn't have spent the last generation kicking our asses. For now, I'd be happy peeling off the blue dog DINOs so we'd have a real voting block on at least half the issues.

5. That's not what the party establishment thinks
"Who else you gonna vote for you whining wackos?" HAAAAAAAAAAAAA. (of course I've read this quite a few times on DU too-since Republicans are the new Democratic Underground)

That's pretty much their statement of faith in the left. It's certainly how they feel about the Gays.
And YES, I heard a "spokesman" for the "Democrats" say that on CNN a couple weeks ago when the
"far left wing " were daring to criticize the anointed one's cabinet picks.
