5. That picture of Obama is disturbing
Edited on Wed Dec-17-08 09:18 PM by Upton
It was taken in 1980, when the dangers of smoking were well known...yet in the photo he acts like puffing away is something to be proud of. I wouldn't even mention it except the nicotine habit that he cultivated as a youth is still with him today. Lets hope in the future he demonstrates the character and will enabling him to put the addiction behind him permanently.

6. Don't be a prig.
He looks like he was having fun - and I'm sure he wasn't promoting smoking cigarettes!

15. I'm well past 50 and still smoke and don't give a shit
I don't plan on living forever and don't have a need to. My only responsibility in this world are my 80+ y/o parents and I'm pretty sure I can cover their needs until they move on. Smoking may not be healthy or smart, but it's not as deadly as some make it to be. If I were in Obama's shoes, I'd try to make sure I could be around long enough to see my grandchildren. If quitting tobacco helped get me there, I'd do it in a minute.

at least in his 2nd term.

How I hate the pontificating of smokenazi, nanny staters.

11. Hey now, that would be leading by example
and a wonderful thing...especially for the youth of America. Hell, maybe if we're lucky cancer deaths will skyrocket.:sarcasm:
