7. It has already. Folks were on CNN talking about Rick Warren
like he was a leper.

4. The debate ensuing that might do it.
That comes BEFORE the Inauguration.

I'm not saying it was planned....but sometimes there are unintended consequences.

Because last time folks on television were talking about Rick Warren,
they were talking about his virtues.....non stop.

Now they are debating whether he is a fit choice.

That's a change.

3. more like cement him in place, you mean
if Time (a crap rag but Time nonetheless) called him "America's most powerful religious leader" THEN, this will only make him, his hate, his bigotry, and his disdain for civil rights even MORE powerful. yeah, this will be a GREAT move :sarcasm:

5. Actually, that is a past cover.
However, on CNN, folks got to say quite a few different things about Rick Warren....
stuff that we wouldn't have heard otherwise.

BTW, I didn't call it a great move,
I only spoke of a possible result.

6. It's a win/win for Warren
Either Obama embraces him and gives him further access and legitimacy to a new community or Obama distances himself and he becomes the new Dobson.

8. I don't see it that way.
I don't think he is interested in being the new Dobson.

He didn't sell 100 million books by narrowing his base back to only the Fundie wingnuts.

9. Dobson got to pick the Vice Presidential Nominee
I don't think he'd mind being the next Dobson and having control over the fundie base. Warren's goal is to expand the Fundie base with Fundie beliefs. So being Dobson's succesor only with more people would appeal to him. As long as he can make it the gays picking on him he'll be fine. Remember Prop 8 worked in CA.

10. Prop 8 worked because there is 5-10% that need to be reached out to......
In reference to Warren, until today, he was the quite idolized by the Corporate media.

Like Caroline Kennedy (whom I love), looks like he's fallen off his throne.
