5. I hope that you're not series, Frenchie.
There is absolutely no way that this is treason.

The First Amendment to the Constitution defeats nearly all challenges.

Thank heavens for that.

26. Well at least that had some ground
Bush wasn't elected and Bush did 9/11. So I wouldn't blame anyone who had doubts about Bush. These assholes are more than likely "birthers". It's all they got.

13. I'm sorry, but this is on every shelf of every supermarket!
Forgive me if I'm not into giving the Birthers and their minions the "Coast is clear" to simply lie about our President.

The fact is that they are creating doubt against our President where there is none. To say that soldiers are ready to mutiny against this CIC is treasonous, IMO.

14. i hate to say it but lies about the president are probuably the same stuff people
complained about during washingtons tenure, theres always gonna be some lies and what we sometimes dont want to know, will come out too. Id rather put up with some lies and some truths than have a censored news.

17. Look up Brandenburg v. Ohio and tell us how that fits into your argument.
No, I'm not being combative, I'm giving you something to think about to flesh out your position whether it changes or not. This magazine doesn't rise to the level, but I have to wonder just how thin the ice Glenn Beck is skating on these past few days.

"Clear and present" means right there, right now.

This ain't that.

25. No, I'm not.
But I do have a problem with magazines with the circulation of millions to be able to print outlandish trash aimed at questioning the support of our President by our Armed Forces.

It's one thing to print lies on a President's personal life, it is quite another to print lies on how a segment of the military is ready to mutiny based on those lies.

21. Disgusting. Both the Globe and this OP
Both disgusting.
"To announce that there should be no criticism of the President, or that we should stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only servile and unpatriotic, but it is also morally treasonable to the American public." Theodore Roosevelt, US President.

Americans always have widely differing views of our elected servants. We do not jail people for having or for reporting those opinions, no matter how offensive or incorrect they may seem to us.

22. No, nor should they be.
This is protected speech under the First Amendment. It's obnoxious, but it's protected. We all get to say inflammatory, offensive things without the threat of imprisonment. Actual treason is a crime, but this isn't it.

23. How is reporting the news inciting treason?
It's silly to lambaste any news organization for reporting facts about the soldiers who need to be purged from the military.

Why wouldn't we want to have this reported?

24. The First Amendment is not absolute on this though this magazine
well make that "magazine" could be said to be just reporting. The soldier involved could be in some trouble, though.

One thing the First Amendment does not allow is calling for overthrow of the government. That may not include just the President since he is not the entire government.

But the President is CIC, so I do not think military people have freedom of speech to say they aren't going to obey without mutiny.

Complicating matters, liberals like us did have questions about carrying out * orders, where they violated the Constitution. But those were serious questions (unlike the ridiculous birther crap).
