*snicker* Wingnuts are holding a "National Conference on Obama's missing birth certificate"
Hope some sane people go and challenge these batshit crazy freaks.

Dear Friends:

The National Conference on Barack Obama's Missing Birth Certificate and College Records' is taking shape. Here is our first
update.

1. Location

We have reserved a room at the Capital Hilton to serve as our headquarters. That will act as our initial point for meeting and information. The Capital Hilton is located a short walk from the White House at 1001 16th Street, NW, just in case we decide to march or demonstrate.

2. Hawai'i freedom of information materials

We received a very generous grant to cover the costs of paying the State of Hawai'i for freedom-of-information materials. We hope to have some or all of that material available for review at the conference.

3. Conference Registration fee and ID requirement

Our initial thought was not to require a registration fee. However, we need some advance indication of how large the attending group could be to make space-planning decisions. Therefore, we have added a nominal $10 advance registration fee. The door charge will be $25 to attend one or both meetings. Please fill out the attendance form and mail it back with the $10 to arrive in New York before March 31st. Please include a copy of a photo ID so we can confirm your identity when you arrive at the conference. (The late fee will be $25 cash only 'at the door' with a photo ID.) Once we know how many to plan for, we can work out how formal or informal to be.

4. Who says there was one? Andy Martin?
I wouldn't automatically believe him, that's for sure.

13. It's in the article
And if they are charging such a small registration fee, they had to get money from somewhere. This conference isn't free.

18. I have helped organize several conferences like this
They are not cheap. For them to be putting this on they would need at least $10K.

19. Why so much?
Wouldn't this be relatively inexpensive if, say 100 people paid the 35 bucks? Wouldn't that cover renting a conference room at the hotel? I'm assuming meals and rooms would be the responsibility of the participants. I'm curious why it you think it would cost 10K.
I'm totally in the dark about these things as far as planning and costs, but that seems high for a few freepers in a hotel conference room for a day.

20. Last one we did was a year ago and the hotel wanted $4000 just for the conference rooms
Meals, even coffee was added on to that. I think our final bill was $8000? And I figured DC would be more expensive than here. Plus we were using a local hotel not in a high traffic area.

7. After that, they're going to schedule a symposium on
rampant high school lesbianism, which Senator Tom Coburn warned us all about in his election campaign for the Senate.

That will be followed by an early fall Panel Review of Democrats With Freckles, and whether freckles on Democrats are a manifestation of the Mark of the Beast. I think Lindsey Graham is Chair.

I've read enough to conclude that its lunacy but I'm trying to at least understand the origins of the argument...

15. there are so many strands to this that it's difficult to explain. I'll try.
As far as I can gather, this was started by Philip Berg who is an attorney from PA, a dem and a former Asst. Attny General. He was a Hillar supporter. Berg claimed, in a suit filed last August, that Obama was not eligible to be President because he was born in Kenya and because the Cert of Live Birth that Obama had released was a forgery.

From there the conspiracy took off. The permutations and insane accusations are too numerous to elaborate on, but that's the basis of it.

14. some info on Andy Martin - the organizer
"The Nation, The Washington Post, and The New York Times have identified him as the primary source of false rumors that US President Barack Obama is secretly a Muslim. In a later interview with CNN, Martin explicitly abandoned his view that Obama is a Muslim, but now asserts Obama's real father is not Barack Obama Sr., but is Frank Marshall Davis, an African American journalist of the 1950s"

"In 1973 the Illinois Supreme Court refused to grant him a license to practice law in the state. It cited several instances of troubling conduct on Martin's part, including an attempt to have a parking violation thrown out because it had been "entered by an insane judge" and his description of an attorney as "shaking and tottering and drooling like an idiot."<9> Martin had been described by state psychiatrists as having a "moderately severe character defect manifested by well-documented ideation with a paranoid flavor and a grandiose character."<10> Martin has maintained in various statements that this report was inaccurate, and that he served in the United States Air Force Reserve and was honorably discharged."

"Martin then became involved in consumer advocacy. Calling himself "the people's attorney general," he takes credit for being the first to file suit under the civil component of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), as well as the first to file antitrust actions against the Big Three television networks for anticompetitive practices in network affiliation agreements.<11> Martin claims that he is an adjunct professor of law and that he once was on the faculty of the City University of New York."

"His 1996 run for the Florida State Senate came unraveled when it was revealed that he'd named his campaign committee for his 1986 congressional run "The Anthony R. Martin-Trigona Congressional Campaign to Exterminate Jew Power in America." The revelation led the state Republican Party to renounce him. Just before the election, he assaulted two cameramen from WPTV, the NBC affiliate in West Palm Beach. He was convicted of criminal mischief and sentenced to a year in jail. He was freed pending appeal, but made personal attacks on the judge while on the way out of the courtroom."

"a federal judge for the Southern District of New York, observed that he had a tendency to file "a substantial number of lawsuits of a vexatious, frivolous and scandalous nature."<9>

Many of these filings were anti-Semitic in nature."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Martin_(U.S._politician)

what a bigot.

17. So are they going to explain the Obama "time machine" travel?
Because the Honolulu paper just happened to publish a birth announcement that
just happened to match the date and time on on Obama's "Certificate of Live Birth,"
so did Obama or Rev. Wright go back in time and sneak into the paper's printing
room and change the type?

BTW so Columbia University, Harvard University, the University of Chicago, Occidental College,
the FBI, the CIA, the NSA, Homeland Security, the Secret Service, Social Security, the INS, the
IRS, the Illinois State Police, the Illinois State Senate, the U.S. Senate, the Republican National
Committee's opposition research, and the New York Times along with every major media organization
in the world all missed that Obama wasn't born in America?

Stupid on a stick.

Cincinnati Ohio's Bill Cunningham of WLW who promotes this crap.
