US foreign aid
Has always been stalled by congressional reviews and reviews and government red tape. In most cases, the aid cannot be classified by the OECD definition of aid but is more for military and political reasons--with Israel and Pakistan receiving most of it in the last FY.

What should be the direction of US aid under the Obama Administration?

1. Disaster and Humanitarian relief only
Which should be the only form of aid the US gives in any administration.

I don't understand why we think giving countries weapons helps keep peace in the world.

5. Honestly
We are in the midst of the worst economic crisis since the great depression it might even be worse than the depression because during the depression we didn't have the debt we have peronal, business, and governmental. Our money is about 2 bad things from happening from becoming worthless. We have shipped our manufacturing base overseas. Our ability to help other nations other than sending food, medicine, and weaposn right now is non-existant.

6. It always is an excuse
to cut funding to regions affected by American maded crisis. Even in times of economic boobm, america doesn't show much care about development.
