2. We would have been further along if
Bush didn't stop federal funding 8 years ago.

12. Kind of like saying the government did nothing after Katrina, therefore government is useless
It's NeoConvoluted logic.

14. "We've given you shit and a stick, why haven't you produced the Mona Lisa?"
The government approved cell lines were horrible, hence no progress.

7. Adult Stem Cell Research might be a little further ahead than ESCR but that's because
ESCR has had restrictions put on it that ASCR didn't have, for the past 8 years.

It's sort of like racing two cars on a track, but making a rule that one of the cars can only go 180 mph maximum, and can only change it's tires once, and can only use 15 gallons of gas per 50 laps.

Then, when the driver of that limited car has to intentionally slow down because of those limits and falls behind, he is criticized for not getting as far as the other one that didn't have any limits put on him.

How about treating both equally, funding both equally, giving both equal access? Then with a more level playing field we'll see how far ESCR can go.

13. It's like the morons who say Bush is the only prez to have funded
stem cell research at all. Really? Isn't that a bit like criticizing Lincoln for not funding NASA?

15. well
in some fields yes, in some fields no.

It's not a panacea. With spinal cord injuries, for example, I'm much more excited about neural prosthesis than stem cell research.
