OK, did anyone else notice the two contradictory LBN posts (that got precisely the same reaction?)
Yesterday night, there was a wire report saying that the Obama administration had no plans to let the federal gov't bailout GM and Chrysler. The response was: "Great, hand over money to the fat cats at AIG, but blue collar workers in Detroit get pink slips?" "This is the death knell for Michigan!" "Thanks for nothing, Obama!" etc.

Today, however, there's an AP report saying that the Obama administration IS going to let the federal gov't bailout GM and Chrysler. THIS time, the response is: "Great, throw money at huge mismanaged corporations, while our grandchildren foot the bill?" "This is a dark day for the American taxpayer!" "Thanks for nothing, Obama!" etc.

Or is it just my imagination?

1. Obama has enemies at DU.
Not people who criticize him because of an issue, but rather those who try to use any issue as an excuse to attack him in the most vitriolic, hateful manner possible.

10. Oh, he has nothing to fear from the resident purists.
But, its' annoying to come to DEMOCRATIC Underground and see vitriol worthy of the Freepi being flung at him.

18. I am just trying to understand what you meant by "purist".

What are you attacking me for? Are you attacking me simply for speaking when I supported another candidate in the primaries?

6. More like a few hundred. And it's funny, NONE of them are names I
recognize from the primaries OR election. They are sleeper names who got their post count up a while ago, and now are popping back up to stir up trouble.

Definitely time to start using my ignore button again.

5. The primaries were pretty hot here at DU.
I think a few people have never gotten over it.

I just wish President Obama would explain why he's allowing the top brass at the financial companies to stay in place and not have to come up with business plans, restructuring timetables, etc., and the auto companies aren't being treated the same.

And I'd like to know why those bonus contracts signed by the financial companies somehow have more merit than auto contracts. It doesn't make sense to me, seems like a double standard, and I think someone in the Obama Administration needs to explain it.

9. I can believe that.. I have seen it happen in the same thread by one poster
They got themselves so lathered up, that they ended up disagreeing with themselves within 10 posts.

There were issues there, in my less than humble opinion
