John King interviewing Gen. Odierno and trying to put a wedge between him & Obama
Edited on Sun Apr-12-09 11:27 AM by jenmito
He's showing Odierno a "video timeline" of Obama speaking out against the WAR, then against the SURGE, then changing his tune, asking him how he feels about Obama. He asked, "You are the father of the surge strategy in Iraq...How hard is it to develop a rapport with a president of the United States who thought your strategy was a reckless escalation?" Odierno-"Well, first off, he's our Commander in Chief. And as the Commander in Chief, we take direction from him. In all the meetings I've had with him, he's very attentive, he listens, he's incredibly intelligent, he talks through the issues, and we discuss it, he makes a decision, and then we execute those decisions. And that's all you can expect out of your Commander in Chief, and I've been very pleased with the interaction I've been able to have with him."

Good try, John. Your interview with CHENEY was a love-fest. :eyes:

1. Notice that Odierno says that Obama is a good listener.
Odierno tell Obama what he needs to know, not what he wants to hear. Every military leader dreams of having a president like that. It is not necessary for them to agree on everything.

2. Yes. As a matter of fact, everyone who talks to him says the same thing.
I bet it's refreshing to have a president/CIC who is intelligent, curious, and who LISTENS.

5. I'm noticing that seems to be a common thread among a lot of the military chiefs
They all said the same thing--Obama listens, Bush did not.

4. I am really getting to hate the media mavens who try to do this
sort of thing. I turned off my TV news Sunday interview shows weeks ago, after Obama became President, just because I knew they would be trying to make news for themselves, rather than doing their job, the report the news and conduct insightful interviews.

7. I know how you feel...
although I hate listening to many of these tv people, I feel I have to be a "watchdog" and call them out.

9. I used to have so much respect for John King . . . damn.
I was speechless and disgusted to hear, in response to the so very klassy Karl Rove (who, even my 15 year old son can see, is trying to demonize Joe Biden the way they did to Kerry and Gore, and every other prominent Democrat with the enthusiastic help of the M$M), calling Vice President Biden a, "serial exaggerator", Dana Bash breathlessly proclaiming, "It will stick now, it's in the public lexicon."

So let me get this straight . . . the self-important serial exaggerating/lieing media, decreeing that, because proven over and over again serial liar Karl Rove has said Joe Biden is a serial exaggerator/liar, it's now a done deal? Really Dana?

HOW DARE THEY! These are fair and impartial journalists? Who the hell do they think they are???

No better than RW FOX, or supposed left-leaning MSNBC, or even tabloid journalists.

DO YOUR FUCKING JOBS AND REPORT THE DAMN FACTS!!!

Come on John, this isn't journalism and you know it.

12. Yes, they know it isn't journalism, but it's ratings.

15. Wow! You KNEW he'd do this!
It's sad when the "liberal" media becomes so predictably negative about Obama.
