I thought it was most gracious of Obama to compliment the Bush Presidency
about the creation of the infrastructure necessary to respond to a flu pandeminc.
In his words "And I think the Bush administration did a good job of creating the infrastructure so that we can respond. For example, we've got 50 million courses of anti-viral drugs in the event that they're needed"
When he does these things not only does he seem gracious he also seems non-partisan. It seems evident that he is atleast making an effort to work with Republicans and being fair to the past administration.
1. It is something that he has no obligation to do, but does out of class.
It was actually dickie who was the only one in the administration who took the threat of pandemic seriously. Obama is a bigger man than I, because I would never consider giving them a kind word. Good on him!
I had to clench my teeth through it, because I hate Bush so. But I thought it came off as an attempt to give credit where credit is due. It went well with his words on bipartisanship.
Most people don't like to see their politicians acting petty as the Repubs have been since the election. McCain's snub in refusing the invite to watch the Super Bowl in the White House was just the beginning of continuing bad behavior. Obama is head and shoulders over them in public esteem.
