8. there ought to be a running list of all the RW high-horse riders in 1998-99
who later got caught dipping the wick in a different tallow...

the count has to be in the dozens by now...

10. Sorry guys...
I'm actualy a pretty big fan of clinton, and of course think the impeachment crap of the late 90's was ridiculous... BUT

"I did not have sexual relations with that woman."

Is a far cry from..

"I've been unfaithful to my wife, I'm sorry and ashamed." said with tears in his eyes...

I only say this because an attempt point out this hypocrisy may actually blow up in our faces. I personally don't want to see a split screen with Clinton emotionalessly denying his infidelity next to Sanford wiping tears from his eyes.

12. The whole "LORD HELP ME! I HAVE SINNED!!!" thing makes it no better
and actually a whole lot worse. At least Bill Clinton didn't pretend to be a good moral man.

13. Exactly
The "moral values" right has infinite forgiveness for their own sins, because heh, they feel really really bad about what they've done--at least after they are caught.

The Christian right is hooked on sin/forgiveness like a drug. And, no sin, no forgiveness. I think they secretly applaud people like Sanford/Vitter/Gingrich. But someone like Clinton doesn't doesn't beg for forgiveness, so he is....unforgivable.

15. Sanford is one of those Defenders of Marriage, you know
"One man, one woman...and then that other woman, and so on until caught."

When any politician says that "one man, one woman, Sacred Union" line, his wife should call a divorce lawyer on the spot.
