"....see, I don't need to explain...." --George W. Bush
"I'm the commander -- see, I don't need to explain -- I do not need to explain why I say things. That's the interesting thing about being president. Maybe somebody needs to explain to me why they say something, but I don't feel I owe anybody an explanation."
--George W. Bush; quoted from "Bush at War" by Bob Woodward

I just read that infamous quote from Woodward's book in Senator Robert C. Byrd's "Losing America." (See page 170) Byrd talks about how arrogant a fool Bush is to say that in a nation that recognizes the people as sovereign.

When I think about what a jackass he actually is, it gives me the strength to get back out, to register voters, and to campaign against him.

1. Busch said that because he probably can't explain it.

2. Yeah, Kerry should throw that one in his face.
It's all part of that "moral authority" thingy Smirk wants to bring up. If he thinks the US is moral, just, the beacon of blabiddy blah blah...

Who respects someone who is as cocky as that? He owes the damned American people a freaking explanation for everything he does. :grr:

* is the best motivator for all of us to get out and work harder to get Kerry elected.

BTW, I just started reading "Crimes Against Nature", will we ever recover from the damage done by this administration?

7. I was talking to a friend
earlier this week, and elder from the Lakota people. I had told her what a great book "Crimes Against Nature" is, and she had read about half of it. She said it was frightening, but still essencial that people read this to understand just how much damage has been done.

Will we ever recover from the damage this administration has done? Yes. In the 2nd Book of Chronicles (7:14), we are told, "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sins, and heal their land."

Clearly, the arrogance of Bush is in direct contrast to the gentle, healing message of reconciliation required for that recovery. Bush is the definition of evil.

12. I can only read a few chapters at a time.
It angers and frightens me so much to know that this man has created more harm to our environment than any other in this country's history. (The policies in Texas alone were shocking)

I saw Robert Kennedy, Jr. give a passionate and powerful speech at a Progressive Book Club event on CSpan. He spoke about how this country has become fascist under this administration since all of the appointed officials represent lobbyists and large corporations. I have never seen him so upset about the danger we currently face.

Of course, we have the lack of transparency, no accountability and the fear of any journalist who dares question this administration. Our media is basically government controlled, Robert R. Murrow wouldn't recognize the place.

Take a look at this list:

6. He has trouble with fine distinctions...
like, "President" vs. "Dictator"

or

"War of Choice" vs. "War of Necessity"

(HINT: One is always immoral!)

8. Yes.
What you say is exactly true: Bush is immoral. He is the definition of a "doer of evil."

10. All bow before His Majesty
That quote shows that George W. Bush is not president, he's king (at least in his own mind). He believes in the divine right of kings.

13. When "Bush at War" first came out
a number of people may not have found this Bush quote as offensive as they may find it today. I urge DUers to take advantage of one of the single most arrogant and obnoxious statements ever to come out of any president's mouth. Use it in LTTE, in person, and in any other manner possible.
