Health Care Reform will Boost the Economy
Once we get folks insured, and going to doctors there is sure to be an uptick in the economy in the health sector, having broad impacts.....

Once people actually start seeing their new doctors regularly....more work in the economy.....

Once people start treating things they have been putting off.....

3. depends on the type of coverage... if the cost of policies is so high that
regular people can hardly afford health insurance, then they probably won't be able to afford to use their insurance. Imagine the high copays and deductibles to come.... Besides, as we've seen, the insurance corporations take 30% off the top.

On the other hand, if we had a health service (little overhead--single payer, or Medicare for All), then yes, I'd agree. Single payer would boost employment and provide lots of delayed care, which would be fantastic.

As a health practitioner, I don't think it's as simple as providing health "insurance" to all. For my money, I'd rather have health CARE, and get those lousy insurance corporation leeches out of the equation. They add no value to healthcare, provide not one exam, immunization, home visit to new moms, or a single psychotherapy session!

6. And the greater the reform, the bigger the boost.
This is one of the main arguments FOR single payer with a means-tested premium & deductible. It will put money in the pocket of those that need it the most, who will go out and spend it and get this economy moving again. The fat cats that don't need it will just stick the money in some speculative stock trade where it does no good.

Of course, if Obama revived the economy, he would get credit and the repukes don't want that.
