MORE John Russell, ARNP On Amending Medicare To Include ALL Americans!
Another response on The St. Pete Times Buzz by John Russell, 2006-08 Congressional Candidate District 5 Florida...
http://blogs.tampabay.com/buzz/2009/09/in-washington-florida-fear-over-health-care-reform.html#comments

Amending Medicare to include citizens of ALL ages with reasonable premiums based on one's ability to pay w/ a cap so that Warren Buffett would pay no more than Donald Trump. Such a system would most assuredly provide the most cost-effective path to ensuring that ALL Americans have access to quality comprehensive health care.

While Medicare does require some improvement including the reimbursemnet levels to health care providers, it remains unchallenged by the private sector in its ability to provide quality care at the lowest cost.

Medicare has no marketing expenses, no MEGA executive salaries and merely would seek to break even under ideal circumstances.

Medicare spends about 95 cents of EVERY dollar that it takes in at the bedside while quite reliably the private sector only manages at best to pass about 65-70 cents of EVERY dollar that they take in at the bedside.

There is NO need to concoct a 1200 page Senate Bill to solve this problem... IF indeed all that the Senate is seeking to do IS... "Solve the Problem?"

The 1200 pages are required to distract, cover up and detail all the "nuance" required to benefit the INSURANCE industry at OUR expense... in return for all those Insurance industry lobbyist campaign contributions.

This faux debate all boils down to my last sentence as BOTH political parties are in reality acting as ONE on behalf of BIG INSURANCE in allowing their lobbyists to "author" this Bill.

IT IS... ALLLL About the MONEY in DC and we have no say in it. The propaganda is well planned in achieving the shared goal of elected officials and their corporate supporters in getting us to believe that this poison brew being cooked up will somehow benefit us. Trust me IT WILL NOT!

5. HR676 does this already. The Single Payer bill that Obama put off the table.
Ask yourselves who got money from the health industry, and you will see why politicians of both parties have bent over backwards to kill Single Payer.
