Tea partiers turn on GOP leadership

 Karma my friends.. Karma

While the energy of the anti-tax and anti-Big Government tea party movement may yet haunt Democrats in 2010, the first order of business appears to be remaking the Republican Party.

Whether it’s the loose confederation of Washington-oriented groups that have played an organizational role or the state-level activists who are channeling grass-roots anger into action back home, tea party forces are confronting the Republican establishment by backing insurgent conservatives and generating their own candidates — even if it means taking on GOP incumbents.

“We will be a headache for anyone who believes the Constitution of the United States … isn’t to be protected,” said Dick Armey, chairman of the anti-tax and limited government advocacy group FreedomWorks, which helped plan and promote the tea parties, town hall protests and the September ‘Taxpayer March’ in Washington. “If you can’t take it seriously, we will look for places of other employment for you.”

2. This is good news for Democrats--their otherwise strong opponents
will get ousted by frothing teabaggers.

4. Machiavelli, How Many Kinds Of Soldiery There Are, And Concerning Mercenaries
Mercenaries and auxiliaries are useless and dangerous; and if one holds his state based on these arms, he will stand neither firm nor safe; for they are disunited, ambitious and without discipline, unfaithful, valiant before friends, cowardly before enemies; they have neither the fear of God nor fidelity to men, and destruction is deferred only so long as the attack is; for in peace one is robbed by them, and in war by the enemy. The fact is, they have no other attraction or reason for keeping the field than a trifle of stipend, which is not sufficient to make them willing to die for you. They are ready enough to be your soldiers whilst you do not make war, but if war comes they take themselves off or run from the foe; which I should have little trouble to prove, for the ruin of Italy has been caused by nothing else than by resting all her hopes for many years on mercenaries, and although they formerly made some display and appeared valiant amongst themselves, yet when the foreigners came they showed what they were.

25. Yes, it seems they've lost their Machiavellian touch.
Now they too have many groups wanting their pet project only to be focused on, fuck all the others. Just like the left. How fabulous we're dealing now with a more level playing field.

8. My son predicted that the Republican Party would split in two
or three factions that would be so fractured it would not be an effective party fro at least 15 years till they sorted the factions out. He may have hit the nail on the head. He said, the religious right, the libertarians, and the just plain angry at the world would bring it apart.

Looks like Turd Blossoms coalition is about to blow the republicans up.

What Bush and company did to the United States, they also did to the republican party

16. It would appear this woman was off the deep end even before she became a birther.
"Before her national news exposure, Taitz had previously been personally involved in 22 lawsuits in Orange County civil court.<9> Most of the cases involved "accusations of dental and medical malpractice" and breach of contract suits"

-Wikipedia

Guess she feels since SHE could never be President, Obama should not be either...

19. I do not think they will haunt us in 2010
I'm not worried about them getting at dems when 2010 rolls around. The media seems to forget that they are a small fraction of the population. Just because they make up a good majority of the repig party does not mean they make up a good majority of the voting population. I think this is great news for dems. Let them eat their own. We all knew it was coming once we saw how much of a hold the religious right had on the repig party.

27. sharks...
"Once, off the hump of Brazil I saw the ocean so darkened with blood it was black and the sun fainting away over the lip of the sky. We'd put in at Fortaleza, and a few of us had lines out for a bit of idle fishing. It was me had the first strike. A shark it was. Then there was another, and another shark again, 'till all about, the sea was made of sharks and more sharks still, and no water at all. My shark had torn himself from the hook, and the scent, or maybe the stain it was, and him bleeding his life away drove the rest of them mad. Then the beasts took to eating each other. In their frenzy, they ate at themselves. You could feel the lust of murder like a wind stinging your eyes, and you could smell the death, reeking up out of the sea. I never saw anything worse... until this little picnic tonight. And you know, there wasn't one of them sharks in the whole crazy pack that survived."
Michael O'Hara (Orson Welles), "The Lady from Shanghai", predicting today's gop.
