DU BRAINSTORM: Ideas to spread the "Two-Faced" message. (Thread #2)
The Brainstorm is going great! People have given lots of great ideas. Thread #1 is nearing 200 responses, so I'm opening this second thread. People seem to be focusing on ideas for flyers, which is great. Can people also think of more ways to spread the message online? Any ideas for email, websites, message boards, etc?

PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE MESSAGE BEFORE YOU RESPOND.

I've been talking to the other admins about this "Two-Faced" message, and we think this could be a great opportunity for the members of Democratic Underground to make a difference in the election. I don't know exactly what the DNC is hoping to do, but it looks like they want to spread this message in a viral, guerrilla-marketing, grassroots kinda way.

And we've got lots and lots of people who can help make it a reality.

With this in mind, the DU admins have decided that we're going to make this a priority, and we're going to use all of the grassroots power we have to try to spread this message.

We have a few ideas of our own, but we thought this effort would likely be more effective if we took advantage of all of the great minds we have in this community.

So... What can we do to spread this message?

We've got a cool, attention-grabbing graphic. We've got a very clear and concise message. We have lots and lots of people. We can do this online and offline. We can do web, email, flyers, stickers, clothing, you name it. The possibilities are literally endless.

So, what are your ideas? Brainstorm. Post in this thread. Start other threads to discuss it. Go nuts. This effort can be bottom-up and top-down. Organized and unorganized. Orderly and chaotic.

What are your ideas?

And, if you're already tired of talking and want to start taking action on your own, here are some graphics you can use. Post them on the web. Print them on flyers and plaster your hometown in the middle of the night. Copy them into email and blast them to all your friends. Tattoo it on your forehead. Whatever. It's up to you.

TO BE CLEAR: The purpose of this thread is to discuss ways to spread the message that Bush is Two Faced. The purpose of this thread is NOT to discuss new or different messages that you prefer. If you do not wish to help us in our efforts to spread the message, or if you think this whole thing is stupid, please do not post in this thread. In order to help focus the discussion, I am instructing the moderators to delete off-topic posts. Thank you for your understanding.

1. Couldn't wait till my post was in there huh? Had to make thread 2 now,
so I lose the post and have to type the darned thing all over again!
Gonna get you Skinner. LOL.

OK, try again.

Don't know if anyone will think this is worth a stamp/envelope but,
if you go here:

http://www.fundrace.org/neighbors.php

and type in your zip code, you'll see who in your neighborhood has sent money to * or the RNC. With the way things have been going for *, especially with Iraq, maybe some of these people are starting to think * is a BAD IDEA. Nothing like a little two faced flyer in the mail to make them think about it some more.

Don't know if it's worth a shot but heck, it can't hurt to post the idea.

(Skinner, keep your fingers off the keyboard. I want this one to go through. lol.) ;)

"We were struck today by a very pointed attack
by President Bush on John Kerry. First of all,
this is what Mr. Bush said." -- Peter Jennings,
ABC World News Tonight, September 21, 2004

"We agree that the world is a better off with
Saddam Hussein sitting in a prison cell. And that
stands in stark contrast to a statement my opponent
made today when he said that the world was better
off with Saddam in power. I strongly disagree."
-- George W. Bush, September 21, 2004

"And this is what Mr. Kerry actually said."

"Saddam Hussein was a brutal dictator who
deserves his own special place in hell; but that
was not, that was not -- in and of itself -- a reason

2. Xmas image projectors
They are showing up in stores right about now. They're floodlights that project Christmassy images on the sides of houses. They cost $20-$40, depending on which one you buy.

Make a cel of the Two Faced image -- it shouldn't be too difficult -- and project it on the side of your house or building. That's all there is to it.

4. PHOTO-STAMPS!
Stamps.com offers a service that allows you to create custom postage stamps with your own image.

They are somewhat expensive, but when ordered in bulk, the price goes down substantially.

I think if we got an order in early enough, and in a quantity large enough, we could get them printed before the meme becomes well-known.

Would the admins be willing to take advance orders and place a huge bulk order? We could get them down to $11.99 a sheet if we could get an order of 100 sheets.

i would be in for this. i would use them to send out pinkobuttons orders. but i rarely need a 37 cent stamp. if i could get some 80's, which is what i use more, that would be cool. not a necessity, tho.
i had stamps.com for a while. too much money for too little flexibility, i thought.

I just went to that site and there is this prohibition, not sure how new it is:

Currently we are not accepting images of adults or teenagers.

What am I to make of this. Should we still try? I thought this would have been a tremendous medium, but now I wonder what's going on with that restriction.

I'm trying to get other people involved, but pointing them to the DU threads is confusing to them. They want something more specific.

just my experience with the wingnuts- i have several buttons with chimpy's face on them among my large selection of buttons. in a neutral setting, like an art fair, i will have wingnuts come up and look over every button, sure that in so many pics, there must be one that is favorable. so, if it uses his picture, the message must be spelled out for these idiots.

15. I agree - the confusion here was high when it was introduced
I thought it was more like an Andy Warhol rip-off portrait. Left to my own devices, I would have never come to the conclusion that it meant two-faced (half-faced perhaps).

I still don't think the graphic looks two-faced, it does have only one face on it, after all.

35. (Re-posted)
actually... the image has strong

unconscious impact.

Even for someone who is not anti-bush, the 'unnatural' appearance of his face rubs the subconscious the wrong way. The recognition of the face may occur at many more levels than the immediate consciousness.

So the less 'cognitive' someone is, the more this could affect them.

I'll distribute it without the words - silence has impact. When looking at the image through a quiet mind - all associations are made on deeper levels.
When one introduces words to the image - it turns on a kind of 'mental noise' or internal dialogue. We want this DEEP.

49. How do you know it has a strong unconscious impact?
Sounds like wishful thinking to me. Lacking a study on the matter I'd say you were projecting your wishes onto it. And, being a graphic artist myself, I know how easy it is to do that.

The real truth can only be assessed by testing and asking questions, and even then, "strong unconscious impact" is purely in the eyes of the beholder if the target can't even tell what's supposedly being "done" to him, particularly when one is lacking an objective measurement.

But hey, more power to ya. When I saw it posted on DU I thought some art student was hacking in to show us his Bush Warhol rip-off. I haven't noticed any "strong unconscious impact" on myself, other than being annoyed at DU for fucking with us - if that's what you mean, it worked.

In any case, how would it affect my vote, for example, if I can't tell what it means? Say I'm a Bush lover. What's to stop me from thinking, "Oh, look some art student must like Mr. Bush", particularly since I'm (hypothetically) predisposed to think beneficially about him?

I think the graphic should, at the very least, have TWO faces on it if it's supposed to convey that idea.

However, you do what you will, I'm sure it will do something even if it's just to raise awareness. :)

76. I'd love to delve int this a little...
The nature of 'unconscious impact' is, well... unconscious.

You are not supposed to realize the effect of the message.

There is little chance that a * supporter will allow such a thing to change their conscious habits. There is very little chance indeed.

However, this image is simultaneously symmetrical and asymmetrical.
As a graphic arts student, you are aware of the impact of asymmetric representation of symmetry.
Take Cubism as a perfect example. The idea that one could depict multiple views of an object in two-dimensions made for a wonderful movement.
The images of a single juxtaposed subject represented in two dimensions is only curious or interesting to the cognitive array.
The interpretation of the image depends on a number of things and does not entirely occur at the conscious level.
The starkness of the image certainly attacks the establishment of human preconceptive patterns. What feels right or wrong is more determined by our intrinsic evolutionary qualities, our instincts, than by our formulated understanding and perceptions.

I believe the message implicit in the image to be subtle and powerful enough to affect a person in such a way to infinitesimally alter unconscious actions.
The theory of Human Super Conscious Mechanics allows for great subtlety. There are literally millions of effects that can be derived from unconscious stimuli we are bombarded with daily. We act in relation to that stimuli, unwittingly toward unknown and usually ‘greater’ ends.
We are generally unaware of this apparatus – but it’s the little things…

I haven't a great deal of time to go into details or find pertinent studies - but I would love to hear more from you...

The image MUST be the primary focus. If you add text you need to keep the text very small in relation to the main image.

33. Thanks...
But it's just a rough to illustrate the point.

The point is that people's eyes instantly gravitate towards text, and it's very easy for words to overpower an image. In this case, we want the image to carry the primary message, so the text *must* be small.

Besides, if the text is small, it makes people look twice at the graphic, once for the image itself, a second time to read the text. Making people look twice will reenforce the message.

and LIAR! on the other?

I just want to see if the stronger words would deliver a knock out punch.

Just my opinion, I LOVE the idea and I am by no means a graphics expert but :)

the words two faced are already implied in the fantastic graphic. If it said, LIAR! LIAR! it would look more like he is on the ten most wanted at the Post Office and that is exactly where he should be.

I do like Liar Liar. But... that would be changing the message.

The meme 'two faced' has already been chosen. We're already two days into google-bombing that phrase, and the DNC already has the 'Two Faces of Bush' URL reserved and ready to go...

'Liar Liar' would just confuse people at this point. We have to be on the same page. As much as I like it, it's best to stick with the plan, IMHO.

in my opinion will be most effective. If what they say is true, we are going after 5- or 10% of the electorate ( undecided voters). Online activities are good for pumping up the committed, but I doubt there will be many new voters who will be swayed by an online campaign. Well, maybe if it were directed to cooking sites, home-decorating and other non- political sites. Got to be careful there too, because people would get pissed if things got off-topic.

Analyze where the undecided voter is.

Organize online..."advertise" offline.

47. Good idea. Let's just say
someone did spray paint it outside their local Bush HQ, and suppose someone were to do that outside every Bush campaign office in America. No Bush staffer or supporter would be able to walk in our out of the office without seeing that message. Imagine how demoralizing that would be for the Bush staff and volunteers.

54. "Clean Grafitti" will not get you in trouble
Chalk is good but here's a new technique: Use a cleaning solution (or water and a brush) to etch the image into a dirty sidewalk, wall, etc. How can you get in trouble for cleaning a surface? ;) Professional marketers are using this technique without problems so far. Here's a story about a London grafitti artist who's doing it: http://www.npr.org/features/feature.php?wfId=3379017

LIAR! on the left side image
and
LIAR! on the right side image

My reasoning is that the message must be strong and express our out rage!

If we just put the image it could become a Andy Warhol type icon for the RightWingnuts.

If we put Two faced on it,that will not indicate the degree of our rage against this dictator.

The bottom line is that we want the American people to know that Bush is a two faced LIAR!!!

41. Anonymous mail.
Here's a thought.

Print up a collection of 6 stickers (2 small, 2 medium, 2 large)

Get a list of voters in your state.

Mail them the stickers... with no explaination... just the words 'two faced' on the envelope.

It will cause a stir, cause the voters to think. Some will use the stickers just because they are cool, some will give them to their kids.

43. Address stickers
Get the standard Avery 1" x 3" stickers. You can put 3 images on each sticker. Then a simple trim with an Exacto knife or a matt cutter will give you approximately 1" x 1" images that can be discretely stuck anywhere... envelopes, lamp posts, outside those wonderful Dibold automatic teller machines. Be careful though, there are surveilance cameras at auto tellers.

hit the post office, library, supermarkets, public phone booths, went home to reload, hit every parked car high $ area windshield at 2 a.m.

going again tonight.

how about reversing colors, and/or changing words?

left: white on black-(representing * facade) - right: black on white-(representing * de facto)

words beneath:
left, in reverse colors: fantasy - right, in reverse colors: reality
(small text, which "tinrobot" so aptly suggested in thread #2 - reply #21)

kerry gave us the words, 'fantasy' and 'reality', when he recently referred to * and * policies.
these words get the message across, inspiring thought, rather than, unwittingly, turning anyone off. or is this all to subtle for them? oh, what-the-hell, just go for two-faced

68. Yes - "fantasy-reality" resonates because it's already out there.
Kerry and his surrogates have already begun to push the "Bush is in fantasyland" concept. If we use your fantasy-reality idea, it augments a feeling that is already in place, as opposed to starting over. "Fantasy-reality" is more consistent with the message that's already out there and so I think more people would respond.

gets my vote. The fantasy v. reality theme was introduced by JK this past week - run with it. The masses will see "Two-Faced" and probably think Tommy Lee Jones in Batman. And if "Liar, Liar" is used, Jim Carrey will likely trump Shrub. Some guy on 60 Minutes this evening (familiar with Zarqawi) compared Bush and Zarqawi in their "with us or against us" mentality. All black or white and no gray, but SANE people live in a gray world. Any way to work that idea into the image?

Edited on Sun Sep-26-04 01:48 PM by George_S
If the image linked to a logic/fallacy page that tears apart the neocon's cons, that could go a long way.

Without propaganda, the neocons are nothing: from Limbaugh, to Hannity, to Coulter to the administration and president, the party of reason, logic and principles actually lacks ANY intellectual integrity.

Those not schooled in piratical logic would find it interesting and educational and it would reveal how the neocons arguments are really propaganda at the same time.

58. I don't quite understand Google Bombing but here's how to do it
This comes from the guy who did the first google bomb as a pratical joke on his friend Andy Pressman, to link him to the phrase "talentless hack':

GOOGLE BOMBING

Google is unique among search engines in that while it almost always shows you pages that have the exact keywords you are looking for, occasionally it will show you pages that don't have those keywords, but other pages linked to that page with those words.

I first discovered this when searching for internet rockstar, which turned up Ben's page. At the time though, he did not actually have that phrase on his page however the legions of teeny-bopper blogger morons who linked to him always used that phrase in their links.

In a bizarre surreal bow to the power of perception on the web, what you say about a page becomes just as important as the actual content of the page. The page must be what other people say it is. That Google adheres to this rule and is by far the most effective search engine raises many interesting issues, none of which I will attempt to discuss or explicate.

Now Google is smart, simply having tons of the same links with the same phrase on a single page will do nothing. It requires a multitude of pages to have that link with specific link text. But this power can be harnessed with a concentrated group effort.

And it must be harnessed, and for one very important goal: make Andy "talentless hack" Pressman look stupid.

Here's how you can join in the first ever international google bombing:

1. Get a web site. If you already have a web site, you can skip this step. If not, be a cheap bastard and go Geocities, Angelfire, Pitas, whatever. I don't care. Everyone has something to say blah blah blah personal expression yadda yadda. Just remember the Google bombing.

2. Whenever you update your site, which should be approximately three to five times a week, be sure to include the following HTML at some point:

Andy <a href="http://www.ohmessylife.com">"talentless hack">/a< Pressman

3. Add your site to Google.

4. Wait for the magic to happen! Soon, whenever you type in talentless hack into google, you'll see Andy "talentless hack" Pressman smiling right back at you.

---------------------------

So if I understand it right, wouldn't we want to rename the link from "twoface" to something people would search for in a neutral or even positive association with Bush? Like "georgewbush" or "voteforbush" or whatever.

Or even something completely unrelated that gets a lot of hits, like "Paris Hilton"?

?

But we want people thinking 'two faced' when they think about Bush, not 'Paris Hilton'

We're promoting the meme 'Two Faced' so when someone types 'two faced' into Google, up pops the DNC page about Bush.

The image we're discussing simply promotes the meme.

That's what I don't understand. It's not a popular search. That's why I'm asking, shouldn't the same image be renamed under a _variety_ of names like gwbush, georgewbush, voteforbush, bushsucks, etc so any of these searches brings up the link?

Edit to add: that was the idea behind "Miserable Failure," right?

70. We are going to MAKE the search popular.
With the art and the word-of-mouth campaign.

Besides, GwBush, georgewbush, etc... is used so much on the internet, there's no way we can overwhelm it.

Since 'two faced' is not commonly used, we can overwhelm it and claim the term as our own.

61. Possible follow-up ideas
Let's compile a list of instances where George Bush has been clearly hypocritical or dishonest.

Follow up the initial distribution of flyers with additional flyers that pick up the two-faced theme and expand upon the list.

The list is quite extensive and could easily be supported by additional images.

For example: "George Bush's administration argued against affirmative action. (List date.) Mr. Bush also spoke out against 'legacy' admissions to the nation's best colleges."

Then paste the image from Kitty Kelly's book of George Bush's report card from Yale. (English, 76; History 35A, 75; Economics, 71 and 72, respectively; Political Science, 73; Science, 75; Sociology, 70, etc.)

*note* I am unaware as to the legality of such a practice

If you go to Staples, or other such office supply, you can get full page Avery labels. I just dropped the graphic onto an new page in photoshop, added the text "TWO FACED" under the image, and printed out several 8x10 stickers... I think I'll back it off to 5x8 so as to get two stickers per sheet.

These would be large enough to be noticable from a moving vehicle. Might also want to put on the end points of gaurd rails, etc.

In the interests of keeping our environment clean, please plan on removing them after Kerry wins in November.

82. RE: "stickers on stop signs"
I had the same idea. In fact I bought a 600 pack of avery 5164 3 1/3" x 4" labels (which are a great size) and have spent the last 3 hours plastering the detroit suburbs. Stop signs, shopping carts, mail boxes, atms (great spot) and (the coup de gras) I put 2 (one on the front door and one on the back door) of Bush cheney hq on michigan avenue and telgraph road in Dearborn Mich!!!! I took a picture. The back door was easy but the front door, right on the street, was a gas because of the traffic and the fact that just inside the door was a staffer with his back to me facing a computer and I totally got away with it! Very cool. This is a great idea and a great way for us non conformists types to participate and join in the cause. Thanks to whoever thought it up!

67. eBay "Auctions"
Lots of people use eBay to flog political messages - you can too!

Post an auction or buy-it-now sale for "George Bush poster" with an opening price of one cent. Post the image, or multiples in different sizes.

To sell on eBay you have to register and provide a lot of information including a credit card. OTOH, you can have multiple seller names as long as you use different email addresses. (This is a legit procedure that eBay has no problem with. I have two IDs that I registered with all the same information including credit card.) Create a new ID so that if eBay takes down your auction, it will not impact your rating on any IDs that you usually use.

69. Use Yahoo Groups for anonymous email campaigns
- Join groups at Yahoo using a web-based email address - Yahoo, Hotmail or whatever. You can register multiple times for these addresses under a variety of IDs. Besides Yahoo, MSN and Google have groups.

- Join all kinds of groups - political, religious, business, hobbies, recreation, sports, entertainment fan clubs. Search Yahoo Groups categories and join the biggest groups you can find. There are also groups dedicated to regions - easy to find groups with members in battleground states.

- Once you're a member you have access to the "members" section of the group. Many, many people display their e-mail address in their member listing. Harvest these addresses and send them emails using your web-based address. There are programs that harvest automatically but I'm not familiar with them.

- Make your subject line pertinent to the people you've found, e.g., "Big News For Buckeye Fans!" Include the link, not the image, because lots of people won't open an attachment.

It's great to see this thread. Yesterday I drove to the closest Kerry Headquarters which is over an hour away--I'm deep in repug country--and stocked up on flyers, signs, buttons, etc. for myself and like-minded friends.

And to come back to find this wonderful idea and all of the great suggestions just increased my excitement. I'll do what I can. I especially like the idea of sending the flyers in the postage paid envelopes.

BTW, could anyone take pictures of the flyers once they're up and then post them here? I think it would be a great morale-booster to actually see examples of the idea "in living color." :)

78. Print the image 8.5 x 11 out in mass then get some tacky glue and then
in the dark of night, travel around your town and paste one on each side the Bush/Cheney sign.
It is not destructive, you are not stealing or destroying their yard signs like has been done to the Kerry/Edwards signs.

You can even get the wired ribbon.

These would be fairly inexpensive, I think, so carry a supply and offer when you are asked.

A spool of ribbon can be had for less than 3 dollars, wired maybe a bit more.

Edit: you could even use wire to make them.

89. How small can it go and still be recognizable? Would be best as a bullet
The strategy, as far as I can understand it, is to counter the flip-flopper bullshit. As such, its best use would be on flyers, webpages, etc setting out the infinite number of instances where Dubya has flatly contradicted himself ("support the troops" but screw the veterans, etc, etc). Most dramatic would be to have ol' two-faced as a bullet next to each of these instances. However, I think that would be something like 8 x 8 pixels; no idea whether his features would still be decipherable at that size.

95. Of course, I need new glasses, but it kind of looks like 48x48 is as small
as it'll go and still be recognizable. Now on an actual flyer you want to print fairly large, but I don't know if I'd go that large. Ditto for webpages. On the other hand, presumably there'd be a nice big BUSH IS A TWO-FACED LIAR at the top with a larger version of the graphic, so I suppose it could still work as a bullet.

You can get magnet paper at Office depot, I did this during the parimary. I printed out business cards on the magnet paper, cut them up, and then found metal objects all around to put them on. I did find out that not all bathroom doors are made of metal any more. But lots are, and I figured, maybe some people would take the cards home as a further reminder.

99. I just created Address Labels with Word Art!!!

It was easy, quick and cheap. Done from start to finish in 5 minutes.

I printed little address labels that say...

Bush is a LIAR!

My labels are the Clear Address by Avery. I tried one on the inside of a magazine and you have to really look to see that it was stuck to the page. The transparency gives it a slick appeal.

So cool!

By tomorrow they will be inside a few magazines at the Doctor's office, pasted on the toilet paper roll in the show, when I go to a Drug Store one may get stuck on the handle of the shopping cart etc.

It took me five minutes to print out 30 of them.
They are so tiny I can slip them in my purse and pull one off in a jiffy.

Bush is a Puppet.
Cheney pulls his strings!

I would love to fit the Two faced Image on my little Bush STICKers but I don't know how to get that fancy. :)

My wife and I have been placing our stickers (avery 5164) on the inside of public toilet stall doors (burger king etc...). This a great place for the stickers. They are in high traffic areas, Perfectly visible and the best part is that most fast food/ gas station etc.. employees don't actually close the stall doors when cleaning the commode and could miss them for who knows how long?

And for all the psych majors; you just can't beat the subliminal association being left in people's minds from looking at the Bush-head while doing their business on the commode...

104. Poker chips and plastic coins.
I think there are a lot of casino supply companies which will customize your poker chips for fairly cheap. Here's a likely production rundown:

1000 Diamond Plastic Chips (4 gram) printed with custom logo - 1 side
Chips (7’ each) - $70
Printing (1000 imprints) - $50
Printing Plate - $65
Set Up Fee - $12.50

Total - $197.50

Or about 20 cents apiece. That might get cheaper should someone cough up for a massive production run.

http://www.casinosupply.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=chipspricing

A rough candidate chip:

There's even an element of humor in that to economize, it would have to be a one-sided, two-faced chip.

Custom coins and tokens can also be made:

http://www.hoffmanmint.com/custom.html

I like the idea of coins and chips because they can be handed out with every currency exchange. They can also be left in places where they're sure to be happily taken, like in the coin return slot of a pay phone.

110. Why not print up $87 Billion Dollar Bills with the graphic as portrait?
Here's an idea:

Use the two-faced graphic as a portrait to print up an $87 Billion Dollar bill, serial number (# of US soldiers killed in Iraq), with the words "Two-Faced" in the name scroll under the portrait.

Decorate as typical U.S. currency (make it sufficiently different to avoid being charged with counterfeiting), but I recommend adding the disclaimer, "This note is illegal tender for all Iraq war debts, boondoggles, and lies, public and private."

Motto, of course, "For Halliburton We Conquer!" to replace "In God We Trust".

The reverse side could be an anti-Bush, anti-war message, or it could be an image of Bush's Potemkin Village ranch at Crawford.

If printed to the dimensions of U.S. currency and folded properly, these "bills" can look like money that someone has accidently dropped, almost always assuring that someone else will pick it up. Once unfolded, the bill should obviously be fake, but carry an anti-Bush, anti-Iraq lie message.

Don't know if anyone has already suggested this, but it should be simple enough.....

On the front is the image of the two-face Bush approx. 8 inch square. Under the image, in big red letters, is the question: Who is the real flip flopper?

On the back

(red bold letter) Bush says one thing, does another…
(in black, bold print with red bullets)
• War because of WMDs – not looking for WMDs
• Democracy for Iraq – Patriotic Act for America
• Osama dead or alive – don’t care about Osama
• al Qaeda responsible for 9/11 – Saddam responsible for 9/11
• No to 9/11 Commission – yes to 9/11 Commission
• Will not testify – will testify with Cheney at side
• Uniter – divider
• Fiscal Responsibility – soaring deficits
• Job gains – net job losses
• We are safer – be afraid, very afraid
• No Child Left Behind – cut funding for No Child Left Behind
• Steel tariffs – no steel tariffs
• Iraq has uranium – there is no uranium
• Yes to Texas Air National Guard – no to fulfilling commitment
• Tax cuts for Americans – extreme tax cuts for wealthy
• Compassionate conservative – radical right winger
• Support the troops – cut troop funding
• Healthy Forest & Clear Skies – screw the environment
• Rx card benefit – raises Medicare 17%
• Cost of War – withhold true war figures

… to be continued if Bush is re-selected

(huge red print) Bush is the real flip flopper!

VOTE KERRY/EDWARDS

Going to wear it everywhere! Headed to Indiana tomorrow to a staunch neocon friend's house for a few days -guess what I'm going to wear? Can't be torn down, doesn't need staples, glue sticks or a high spot. I'm a walking billboard!

Here's mine....

Over 1000 american soldiers have been killed in a war to benewfit a select few.....I didn't vote for that either....

My share of the federal deficit is now approx. $120,000.00......I didn't vote for that one either...

126. I've Got it! Internet flash ad with Al Franken flip-flop soundtrack
On his radio show, Al Franken has a recurring political ad satire where he reads off Bush's flip-flops in a smarmy political ad way. He says "flip" or "flippity" or some variation after the first Bush position, and then says "flop" or "floppity" or something after the flipped position.

So here is what we do. Make a flash ad showing a series of photos of Bush making idiotic faces - this would be the background and the picture would change with each position getting sillier and sillier with each picture - facing first right and then left to exagerate the shift in position. Franken's latest version of the ad is the soundtrack.

Over this is the two-face graphic floating around like a Window's screen saver. Every time the president's position changes in the script, the image switches from black/white to white/black. Then send the ad to every democrat you can encouring them to forward it to their independent and undecided friends.

Tada!

139. The Stencil Type is a TERRIBLE choice
A stencil face makes sense if you're actually cutting a stencil but for any other conceivable graphic application this is the worst possible type choice.

This typeface cuts against its own message. Stencil type-faces are always used to connote the military and other rugged manly stuff, and no-bullshit messages. One uses this face for ads for rugged paper-towels and guns and humvees and man-sized portioned microwave dinners.

First off, the smaller sizes look slightly better for online, imo.
The bigger graphic would be great though for a flyer, it has a projection of fear and bad vibes that that makes me think of the antichrist. Maybe an alternate title possibility would be, Two-faced or Antichrist, you decide.
