Given that winning is everything to the Repugs, do you think Bush will debate Kerry?

Let's face it, Republicans think there is absolutely nothing more important than winning the election. They will lie, steal, beg, or borrow to win.

Most people, regardless of political persuasion, want debates. If the Repugs don't debate, they will lose some votes. But, if Gallup and some other polls are really correct, maybe they think they can afford to lose those votes.

manage not to piss on himself...

2. it's actually hard to imagine kerry winning the debates
oh, of course, he'll win the debates themselves in the sense that kerry will answer more convincingly, with better solutions and he'll seem more presidential and all that.

but far more people will only hear the media buzz afterwards, which is preordained to report that bush "connected" with middle america and kerry was aloof and flip-flopped and did something that somehow seemed french.

honestly, if there was a debate today between hitler(r) and fdr(d), the media would declare hitler the loveable, patriotic winner who will defend us that everybody wants to have a beer with, and fdr a priviledged, elitist, communist cripple.

4. Bush connects with middle america?
What an insult, saying that a bumbling idiot connects with them better than a person with actual intelligence.

5. What I'd like to know is
how the media knows immediately after the debates how Americans judge who won.
