The republican fantasy world of "let's pretend"
Help me out here.

The entire GOP point of view is a fantasy.

The only way you can be a GOPer is to pretend.

Let's pretend things are getting better, instead of worse, in Iraq.

Let's pretend there actually were WMD's somehow, somewhere, in Iraq.

Let's pretend all those babies and women and grandfathers we're killing are "insurgents".

Let's pretend our own troops aren't getting killed.

Let's pretend record defecits don't matter.

Let's pretend the majority of Americans actually wanted the assault weapons ban to expire.

Let's pretend Osama bin Laden doesn't matter anymore.

Let's pretend George Bush isn't a complete corporate stooge.

Let's pretend Halliburton is only concerned with what's good for America.

Let's pretend Dick Cheney isn't actually getting paid six figures a year by Halliburton.

Let's pretend an economic recovery is right around the corner and is fueld by tax cuts for the rich ....

C'mon, DUers, let's continue this list. I think it can go on and on.....

1. Lets pretend we are safer from terrorism now than before 9/11/01
Edited on Sun Sep-26-04 11:13 PM by SilasSoule
We are not.

Also:

Let's pretend that IRAQ was somehow linked to 9/11.

Let's pretend that the ranks of Al-qaeda have not swelled due to IRAQ, and in fact, Islamic terroist recruitment is way down.

7. Let's pretend that Bush is a man of character and great resolve.
:puke:

Let's pretend that Bush didn't fail the nation on 911.

Let's pretend Bush is "compassionate."

I like this game.

Let's pretend that Democrats said the same thing Bush did about WMD's and ignore the fact that Bush said Saddam was making NUKES.

9. Let's pretend that Smirk's invasion of Iraq
was part of the War on Terrorism instead of plundering Iraq to enrich Halliburton and other friends of Smirk.

BTW, whatever happened to that guy called Osama?

10. Lets pretend
that people all over the country are losing family farms due to the "Death Tax."

Let's pretend that it is such a terrible financial burden for certain Americans to pay taxes on stock dividends.

Let's pretend that making huge cuts in government revenue through large tax cuts will somehow erase the deficit.

Let's pretend that Laura Bush is an inspiring, hardworking, and influential Firsy Lady, and then we can pretend that she's had countless State dinners and cultural events at the White House with artists, musicians, writers and people from all over the world.

Let's pretend the courts are clogged with scam artists, tying up our justice system as they haul away truckloads of cash they don't deserve.

Oh, this is fun! It brings all that bitterness right to the surface!:)
