Peace Leaders Release Letter to Potential Nader Voters
I am spreading the following around to all the peace/justice sites I know in the hopes it will convince a possible Nader voter or two to see the light:

The November 2 election must end the reign of President George W. Bush whose policies have dismantled what we -- and Ralph Nader -- have worked for years to achieve. At stake is the survival of progressive values that we and Ralph Nader hold so dear and the hope for a safer, stronger and better world.

Four more years of President Bush would result in the further undermining of international security: a new generation of nuclear weapons, a resumption of nuclear bomb testing, expansion of National Missile Defense, advancement of the doctrine of pre-emptive war, and the unilateral use of military force independent of the United Nations.

Bush supporters understand power and want to keep it. They have collected ballot signatures for Nader; they have sent him tens of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions. They are using Ralph Nader to divide the progressive vote.

We cannot let them win.

There are 59 signatories, including Daniel Ellsberg.

1. Let me tell you all a story
I remember one nice October afternoon in 2000 I was out on the mall of the campus in which I work and study. It was lunchtime and the student Nader supporters were holding a rather public rally. I sat down to watch, eat my lunch and enjoy the nice day. Also on the mall were the various student organizations with their little card tables set up as they always do. The College Republicans had a table set up too, but they were paying much more attention to the almost hysterical rantings of the Nader supporters at their rally. Polo shirted, khaki pants, and all white, these little future chickenhawks were giggling and laughing through the whole thing. They knew what this all meant. They knew what the score was. They knew what the consequences would be as these Kool-Aid drinking Naderities rambled on and on about how "there was no difference between Bush and Gore". :eyes:

This year I will treat any Nader supporter as the eqivalent of a Bush voter.

2. counterproductive
We know lots of Nader supporters will end up voting for Kerry when it comes right down to it. Nader is polling higher now than his actual vote count in 2000, which we all know is a joke.

Let's use this letter to help convince as many Naderites as we can to come to their senses in the voting booth. It's a small, but important part of the grand strategy to get His Chimperial Highness out of office.
