Gephardt's done I guess...
I'm a Dean supporter, but can Gephardt when Iowa if Dean has Harkin's backing?

1. I'm still worried about Iowa.
Gephardt has a lot of organizational muscle, and the Republicans, the media, and many Democrats are throwing everything they have at Dean at the moment.

5. Harkin doesn't guarantee Iowa for Dean
A lot of Harkin's staff is for Edwards and Iowans are very independent. They think for themselves ... always have, hopefully always will.

7. It is obvious...
he will not make the nomination. All he can do is make cheap shots at the front runner.

4. Anything can happen
You never, never know. The weather could be a factor. Dean and Kerry could be found in a motel giving Edwards a spanking. Can't take anything for granted.

8. As a Dean supporter
Don't count Gep out yet.

Caucuses are all about organization and motivating people to go out in the cold and sit in a gym for three hours. So polls aren't particularly reliable.

Gep has tremendous union support that will turn out alot of people. Dean has huge contingent of first timers that aren't polled at all. So it's really going to be too close to call.

9. Gephardt has been attacking Dean almost
as badly as Lieberman. Keith Olberman just reported that Gephardt has accused Dean of bringing in outsiders to Iowa to vote for him. Nasty.
If the Democrats lose this fall, it will be the fault of the other Democratic candidates for their attacks, which will surely be used by the Bush campaign.:eyes:

11. How will Gephardt supporters break if he drops out
Go to Clark or Dean?

Gep seems more like Dean on domestic issues (they both have support of unions) and more liberal.

Gep seems more like Clark on defense.

tough call.

12. The ones in IA
will just go home and wait until the GE.

There isn't enough support anywhere else outside of MO that could impact anything seriously.
