Do you see whats going on over here at DU? How we are dissecting all of our candidates, attacking them from every angle, putting them all through hell, knocking them off their stride, tearing them to bits, slapping them all over the place? Well, here's the thing.
We're practicing.
We'll be coming for you, and your "champion" soon.
And try as you might to lower expectations of George "Mission Accomplished" Bush, - we won't accept "the soft bigotry of low epectations". This President has one of the worst records of any in the History of the United States. And we are not going to let him run from that. Not even a little bit.
We want some proof of some uniting - Osama bin Laden did a better job of Uniting us than Bush ever did. We have seen thousands of our citizens slaughtered because of a fundamental failure in our Government's ability to decipher intelligence. The buck stops with Bush, and it's about damned time we had some accountability.
Speaking of accountants, you are the party of Enronomics, the very model of the Bush Presidency. The first CEO President. And you've played your part well. You are trying to make the balance sheet look good with creative marketing and gimmicky PR moves... well, we all know what happens in Enronomics. It sounds real nice, but the little guy gets screwed in the end when it all collapses around you.
You said "they have not led, we will". And sure enough you have led us... into:
1) highest defecits ever 2) animosity around the world 3) higest unemployment in years
And we're still not safe.
We could discuss your record on the Environment. Education. Healthcare.
We cald talk frankly about your lack of access to the media, and scripted press conferences. Why are you so afraid to be a straight shooter, Mr. Bush?
We could discuss the Pretzel incident and infer that it's a cover-up for your wife hitting you. Just for fun.
We could do all sorts of things, because, I have to tell you, George W. Bush, you really just suck at being President - and I'm quite ready to have someone outside the oil industry (or major league baseball management) speaking on behalf of all Americans.
We need a real uniter, not a partisan ideologue. We need some real compassion, not some marketing slogans. We're going to reform, reframe, and engage in the debate - and we're going to win.
See ya soon! :hi:
P.S. More to come
