Even Texans know who won the debate.
My favorite remark from the Dallas Morning News web site:

"Bush showed that without his hate-mongering henchmen behind him, he is nothing more than an exasperated gargoyle that has no concept of how his policies have negatively affected billions of people. Kerry showed that he in fact could be presidential and it will be nice to have someone as Commander in Chief that can form his own thought without having Karl Rove tell him what to think."

The responses ran well over 10 to 1 in Kerrys favor :toast:

Go here and clink on 'Here's what you said about the debate' just under the first story to see them all.

2. And people still consider Texas a red state
I got news for ya - the Kerry campaign is going to have to explain to Texas Democrats why they didn't support Texas more than they did when November 3 rolls around and our electoral votes go to Kerry. HA!

6. While I doubt he could carry Texas...
There is a lot of Democratic activism in Texas, and a lot of organized grassroots campaigning. More than I've ever seen. Kerry could make a stronger than expected showing here, but even better, he could drag more Democrats to the polls to win us some local elections, especially in liberal areas like Austin, which could start our takeover of the state. People all see that the Dems are more motivated and organized that the Repubs, and people also see that the Repubs are becoming smug, acting as though they own the state and don't have to earn it.

Texans really don't like smugness.

I think if Kerry could campaign here full time, he could really rattle Bush in this state. But he can't afford to, so he writes it off. Understandable, even the right thing to do, but still regretable.

3. From a sad State to another sad State
Texas keep the faith. Our eyes are on you.

The debate is shaking up Missouri. I watched polls in your Texas and was pleasantly surprised.

I am a lifelong Democrat it killed me when the campaign pulled out of Missouri as a "semi lost cause" to concentrate on overall electoral strategy. I understand and agree with the need to follow a winning strategy.

I hope Texas and Missouri both confound the Pundits.

I apologize for the poor reception (obnoxious hecklers)Kerry Edwards got along the Missouri River Valley in some places (Jefferson City gave them a real good enthusiastic welcome). You have to remember in the 1930's the German American Bundt was very active (in a couple communities)and some of their Grandchildren (who seem to gravitate to Republican politics) have not learned manners.

5. The Kerry Campaign
Has not pulled out of Missouri. They have a large number of full time staffers working here and have been adding staff. Missouri will be won on the ground not on tv. Today will be a beautiful day to canvass.

7. I beg to differ.
I see few attempts to get to voters in this State. We have had at least 3 Republicans canvassing door to door no Democrats. (That makes me damn mad!) I have also heard other Democrats asking where the campaign (all of them)has gone? I am afraid the DNC has almost given up and will allow us to become a Red State.

I am a true believer. Even if abandoned (the way I feel now) I will not give up. If Missouri is not going to cave in they better work harder. Do not concede any State, do not concede Texas, try harder in North Carolina. I will be looking for workers on the ground. How about some visits from the National Campaign in out State Missouri?

9. Well I don't think he will win Texas.
That said I do think he will be surprised at how many supporters he does have. Even here in the bible belt you see more Kerry bumper stickers than you might think.
