Accuracy of online polls....
A lot of people are saying to check the online polls to see who won the debate - I'm sorry but that is not a good or accurate way. There are too many skewing factors involved.

For example, many, many people are probably just checking Edwards because Cheney is such a turd.

Next, I honestly believe that the Internet is more of an arena for people like DU'ers. Our side processes information differently and probably are skewing the results. For example, conservative radio outpaces liberal radio and I would bet that if someone was taking radio polls, the outcome would be similar, but opposite, of what is being found on the Internet.

Then there is the fraud....I wonder how many people are voting more than once....

1. the CBS poll was NOT an online poll

CBS News:

CBS News tracked the reactions to tonight's vice-presidential debate of a nationwide panel of 169 uncommitted voters - voters who could change their minds before Election Day. Here are the initial results. This scientific poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 7 percentage points:

By 41% to 29%, uncommitted debate watchers say Edwards won the debate tonight.

3. Hmm...
For example, many, many people are probably just checking Edwards because Cheney is such a turd.

A lot of people may vote against Cheney in the voting booth for the same reason. ;)

4. Well...DUH. Who believes online polls mean much of anything except
possibly as a measure of enthusiasm among political web junkies? Otherwise they are just unscientific, kick ass fun.
However, it is worth noting that nearly EVERY online poll in 2000 was pro-Bush. I remember it well. Not so this year which indicates a shift in this one demographic.
