Cheney kept Edwards on the defense for a good part of the night and was just an aggressive, evil bastard. The lies he told to do so, however, will be his undoing. Amazing... I figured the media would let him pass on this.

Just thought I'd post this from the article appopro of how Good Edwards was..

"Most Democrats, including Kerry, duck and cover when Republicans bring up values. Not Edwards. He knows the language and loves to turn it against the GOP. The word "moral" was used twice in this debate. The word "value" was used three times. All five references came from Edwards. He denounced the "moral" crime of piling debt on our grandchildren. He called the African AIDS epidemic and the Sudan genocide "huge moral issues." When Ifill asked him about gay marriage, he changed the subject to taxes. "We don't just value wealth, which they do," said Edwards. "We value work in this country. And it is a fundamental value difference between them and us."

7. William Saletan. The juiciest was that Cheney made two big mistakes.

Denial of his 9/11-Iraq connection drawing...and saying that he had never met Mr Edwards until he walked on the stage.

Also, Mr Cheney thanked Gwen but not Mr. Edwards. In my opinion, that was a slap that was heard around the country. And Mr. Cheney will pay for it.

That Cheney only mentioned Bush once or twice? I only heard once, but I had a situation come up in the middle of the debate so I may have missed it.

Edwards did what a VP candidate should do: Boost up the Presidential nominee. Edwards mentioned Kerry's name more times than I could count. I love someone who can set his ego aside like that.

Cheney was too arrogant to mention Bush's name like that. He didn't tell us why we should vote for Bush, he pretty much was trying to scare us into voting for him.

Also, Cheney seemed to be the one on the defensive, not Edwards. Considering Edwards has only had a few short years in politics, and Cheney has had decades of experience, you'd expect MUCH better from Cheney, but we didn't get it, did we?

They're the only network that did post-debate analysis last night, and declared Cheney the winner.

Everybody else finished up this morning...and declared the opposite.

...worked up into a lather over the dynamic posturing of the mighty Republican party, Matthews declared "this election is OVER" (meaning "Bush has it in the bag").
