Cheney Meant to Say 'Factcheck.org'

(CNSNews.com) - Bloggers are buzzing about the fact that Vice President Dick Cheney mistakenly referred viewers of Tuesday night's debate to factcheck.com when he meant factcheck.org.
The 'factcheck.com' website Cheney mistakenly mentioned was established in February -- updated in September, according to the WHO IS registry of domain names -- and it redirects viewers to a George Soros website, titled, "Why We Must Not Re-Elect George Bush."
In a "personal message" on the redirected factcheck.com website, George Soros, the wealthy funder of liberal causes, says, "President Bush is endangering our safety, hurting our vital interests, and undermining American values."
Factcheck.org, which checks political rhetoric against the facts, is run by the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania -- and among other things, it explains how Dick Cheney has been falsely accused of having continuing financial ties to Halliburton. (He is receiving deferred compensation as vice president, for earnings dating back to his CEO days.)
