It was the usual Bush operation of attributing his own sins to his opponent and claiming his opponent's virtues for his own. Bush did this with McCain in 2000, too.
The shtick is this: Because Kerry has criticized the current situation in Iraq as having too few troops and too few allied countries involved, Bush is claiming that Kerry shows "scorn" and "insults" our heroic allies. Expect 'cans and media whores to pick up on this and repeat on cue.
The trouble is, the new book on Franco-U.S. relations in the lead-up to the current Iraq war suggests Bush poisoned relations with Chirac and lost a chance to have thousands of French troops back up an invasion.
And we all know that Kerry will automatically have support from leaders around the world if elected, and that we can't even send Bush to our ally Britain or to neutral Ireland without huge crowds of protesters demonstrating against him. Bush also can only go to Iraq by stealth, not openly.
But Bush will trot out his newly memorized talking points faithfully between now and November 2nd. DON'T LET HIM GET AWAY WITH IT.
And we all know that Bush has caused increased anti-Americanism around the world. Polls indicate that a majority of citizens in allied Western countries disapprove of Bush.
