Why do I see so many similarities between Kerry and Andrew Jackson?
Edited on Wed Oct-06-04 05:42 PM by Moonbeam_Starlight
Seriously. It started off as a joke between friends, because I said I thought he looked a bit like Andrew Jackson:

Make the eyebrows less bushy, tame down and darken the hair and voila!

Also, Jackson was the first Democratic president, he was in the War of 1812 (and quite the hero in it), he was a lawyer, then a Senator....sheesh! Here are a couple of on line bios. I must admit, Jackson's story is quite captivating. He was apparently quite the strong president!!!

5. Oh my gosh it IS!
I am still reading more about him and found a detailed telling of his reaction to his wife, Rachel's young death. He had JUST been inaugurated, oh my God it is sad.

He went toe to toe with Congress, first president to do that.

He totally went up against this big huge bank and won.

WOW.

3. Unfortunately.
He was a virulent racist even for the time, but otherwise, analogy looks good.

I prefer my "Looks like Lincoln, sounds like Kennedy, fights like Churchill" line.

7. He was also the guy who made the Indians go on a death march!
I'm no fan of Andrew Jackson.
