We lost a marine and his funeral was today.
He went to one of the local county schools, but I didn't know him.

Marine Cpl. Matthew D. Conley

21, of Killen, Ala.; assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, Calif.; attached to 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward); killed Feb. 18 when his vehicle was attacked with an improvised explosive device while he was conducting combat operations in Ramadi, Iraq. Also killed was 2nd Lt. Almar L. Fitzgerald.

I went to a friend's house today and she works retail. She was telling me that a group of marines came to town for the funeral and were in her store talking about how much they hated George Bush, how they knew that their votes weren't counted if they voted for Kerry, and that they were ready for impeachment. I never thought I'd hear talk like that in Florence, AL.
