Walt Monegan for Mayor?

Boy, the field is getting crowded. I did a quick scan of the adn political forum, and it appears that Monegan has quite a bit of support over there.

I'll have to check into him further..

I have no clue what he's like "politically".

** correction: Changed that to "adn forum".. (I had APD forum.. )

1. Is there actual talk of him running?

I'm no longer in the state, so gossip/news is hard to come by.

It would be exciting if Walt ran! Who else has thrown their hat in the ring?

2. He has declared.

The other candidates are conservative and gigantic asshole, Dan Sullivan, and progressive/Democrats Dr. Sheila Selkregg, Eric Croft, former APD officer Paul Honeman, possibly assembly chair Matt Claman, and four other lesser known candidates. It's a very crowded field, and I'm concerned that the progressive vote will be split allowing the only conservative, Dan Sullivan, to win.

Maybe some of these folks will decide to drop out. I believe we don't have runoffs anymore, but whoever wins a plurality gets it.
