Calif. girl named Kerry Edwards has new affinity for politics

DAVIS, Calif. (AP) - She may only be an 8-year old, but Kerry Edwards always will have an easy time remembering the Democratic presidential ticket in 2004.
Through a confluence of parental preferences and political pragmatism, the third-grader from Davis has a special affinity for the Democratic ticket of Sens. John Kerry and John Edwards. Everywhere she goes, store windows, cars and headlines are calling her name.
"Its pretty nice," Kerry said of the bonanza of personalized bumper stickers, T-shirts and yard signs the election has wrought.
Though not necessarily yard-sign types, Kerry's parents are glad the Kerry-Edwards ticket represents views closer to their liberal politics than those of the Republican candidates.
