3. I hope so.
I'm in Virginia where discrimination is already written into our Constitution.

I don't know the geography out there but I'm hoping some liberal precincts have yet to weigh in. If Virginia could turn blue, there's still hope for a good outcome.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for us all.

5. LA has, but only 10% and that has not moved in a while
it is like they are not counting votes...

The northern part of the state is... but not fully either

8. I'm on fox11 la, numbers are similar...
...but this was 10 minutes ago, with 11% precincts reporting. Lots of paper ballots to get through...please don't lose hope...not yet.

In LA alone, we have West Hollywood, Hollywood, Santa Monica and Venice that I'm guessing still haven't been accounted for.
Hang in there everyone.

9. I hate to sound stupid...
What happens if this passes? If this is a "proposition" to amend the CA constitution, is there another step in order for it to be amended? Does it have to go through the legislature?

10. It will amend the constitution and in theory make it impossible
for judges to decide on the constitutionality of this.

In practice I suspect this will end up in the courts and go all the way to the USSC

It is essentially taking a right that exists away... and things like bans on marriage between anglo and latino people back in the '50s were ruled unconstitutional

Of course the idiots who voted for this in many cases do not realize they might be next

I had really hoped for a better results,
like a crushing defeat for 'h8'.

Why do these people SUPPORT discrimination?

13. The effort will continue
Newer generations of voters will embrace equal rights marriage just as they embraced Barak Obama. Patience...

14. You're right, Winebrat.
I have to have more patience with this.

Right now, I feel sooooo hurt for all our fellow Californians who celebrated their
love and commitment to each other in same sex marriage.

:(

We will continue to fight the hate and discrimination.
