Group to fight for term limits
http://www.sacbee.com/content/politics/story/12143910p-13014148c.html

Two weeks after Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said he had an "open mind" about modifying legislative term limits, supporters of the 1990 law announced creation of an informal coalition Tuesday to oppose any change.
"Our message is really very, very simple: Don't touch term limits," Paul Jacob, a spokesman for U.S. Term Limits, said at a Capitol press conference.

term limits have hurt California so much--we need to get rid of them once and for all

1. I've never believed in term limits
The only real thing it can ever do is prevent good elected officials from serving the people. Remember that the first term limit was created to stop FDR.

2. term limits suck
We should be able to vote for whomever we want. All it's done in California is create a giant game of musical chairs where the same people just hop from job-to-job.

It gives more power to the lobbyists, who are on the job for decades.

4. nope
First off, the supreme court has ruled that no state can term limit representatives or senators - their eligibility for office is defined in the US constitution, and no state can add requirements.

Second, a bad idea is a bad idea, even if you want to wield it against one particular person you dislike.

5. well, poop
Of course, I had meant to include a sarcastic smiley. I really, really, really don't like DiFi.
