Peggy Lamm's Owens problem.
As reported here at Colorado Pols, Peggy Lamm continues to sink deeper in the quicksand of her Bill Owens endorsement over fellow Democrat Rollie Heath, in 2002. However, Lamm continues to insist that she did not endorse Owens.

Yet, Jody Hope Strogoff of the Colorado Statesman is proving to be a formidable obstacle in Lamm's tortured damage control efforts.

In the latest edition of The Statesman, just out today, Strogoff outlines the facts::

"Once again, for the record, I received a press release from Owens' gubernatorial campaign in early August of 2002, listing Peggy Lamm as one of about 100 Democrats who had endorsed Owens for reelection."

"...Peggy Lamm herself is the issue. It was her name that appeared on the press release from Bill Owens' campaign (and I'm glad I still have the original release in my files.) It was Peggy herself who responded to an on-the-record interview with The Statesman about that very topic, and it was also Peggy who never sought to have her name removed from Owens' press release in 2002. Nor did she ever refute our article when it was first published more than two-and-a-half years ago. And, for the record, Lamm's name appeared on a second press release from the Owens campaign roughly two weeks after the first, in which she was listed as one of more than 400 Democrats supporting Owens' reelection."
