CO on pace for 37,000 foreclosures this year
some great economy we have going, eh?

Den Post article

Colorado's rising foreclosure rate shows no sign of abating, according to a first quarter count from the Colorado Division of Housing.

Public trustees in 51 of the state's 64 counties reported 9,254 foreclosures started in the first quarter.

1. The woman behind me has had her house on the market for over a year.
I see she is putting some money into it this spring -- outside paint job, minor landscaping, general cleanup of her property. There are lots of properties in my neighborhood for sale & they are not going fast. About 10% of them are for sale by owner.

2. I've seen several sit for long periods or be taken off the market
I know few people with secure jobs that pay anything near what they made 5, 6, 7, 8 years ago.

Who will buy houses or anything else in this country? Not me.

3. Ya, and for some reason
the message aint' getting through to the developers who still want to tear up more and more beautiful areas of land for mroe over priced, sardine developments with houses closer then most apartments. They're not getting the concept of supple and demand. The foreclosure problem is showing up nationwide as well, but it's been reported sev. times lately how bad it's getting in CO. And to make matters worse, home owners are being advised to rely on their credit cards to pay their late mortgages -- domino effect.
