Bill Clinton was "Nadered" in Colorado in 1996
A lot of people don't know this because obviously with the magnitude of Clinton's victory in 1996, the electoral votes of Colorado didn't even come close to making a difference to the outcome of the election. But looking at the returns, one can see that if you take nader out of the race, Clinton may have won Colorado (which he did in 1992). Perhaps this should have served as a warning for Democrats in 2000.

1. Specious
By this reasoning, I guess that Bush the elder was Perot-ed in 1992.

In 1988, Bush won Colorado by approximately his national average 53% to 45%. But in 1992, Perot won 23% of the vote, and Clinton carried the state with 40% to Bush's 36%.

It is arrogant to assume that any one political party owns people's votes. The Democrats do not own the votes of anyone who might be inclined to vote for Nader or any other non-Democrat left of center candidate.

Neither do the Republicans own Libertarian votes or the votes of all right of center citizens.

Greens and Libertarians are not stealing votes from Democrats or Republicans -- in America individuals get to make up their own mind and vote according to their own conscience.

Get real, if the Democrats in Congress would start impeachment proceedings against Bush and Cheney, they won't have to worry about third party candidates, they would win big.

But you've got to make your case and show the voters you can lead courageously and with principle.

2. kind of like how David Chandler "nadered" Colorado's 7th district
back in 2002. Bet you're still patting yourself on the back for that one.

You did the people of CO such a favor, after all, helping Beauprez win.

why don't you post this tripe over on the Green website?

3. I Am Patting My Own Back
Because I gave citizens an opportunity to vote against what has turned out to be a horrible, deadly U.S. war and occupation of Iraq.

The two major party candidates in 2002 were both pro-war, they both bought Bush's lies.

So, it may sound like "tripe" to you, but I was correct and the other two guys were dead wrong.

4. How bout nationals?
What about the national elections, was Kerry "Nadered", as well as Diebolded? I'll buy the argument, but I would rather have had (in my dreams) a Nader, than a demi-republicat, but I know Corporate America will not let that happen.

5. there was a war in 2002?
that's a bullshit answer. Feeley was not "pro-war" by any reasonable definition.

And why did you run against Perlmutter? He didn't support the war.

Or was that just a vanity campaign on your part?
